Be Different....

Hello everyone, welcome and lovely to see you here.
It's not often I get the time to take part in challenges, but yesterday I had some time to play and here is the result:
I know, - just a tag, but I managed to incorporate some of my favourite techniques, texture through a stencil (one of the new Tim Holtz ones), wrinkle free distress for the background, using Crushed Olive, Forest Moss and Walnut Stain Distress Inks and then of course some stamping.

I really can't remember where the raven and the crown came from, I found them in my box loosely named "Halloween stamps".

The Teesha Moore girl I picked up many years ago in a German stamp shop.  I love this quicky girl and to me she really suits a Halloween themed tag. I stamped her in Jet Black Archival on a piece of paper coloured with Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks and then cut her out.

Finally, the leaf at the top was die cut with a spellbinders die, embossed with an old Cuttlebug folder, and then with some gold embossing powder randomly sprinkled over it.  I then coloured with the same Distress Inks again. The sentiment along the side is from Tim Holtz simple saying highlighted with a white pen.
Well, there you have it. I am going to enter this into the following three challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Say it with Stamps"
Our Creative Corner "It's Halloween let's tag it on"
Dragons Dream Tag it on " challenge 151, "A word of your choice plus brown, diecuts, layers"

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will have fun this weekend and get some creative time!!

Gorgeous, richly decoated tag, Astrid. I agree the Teesha girl is great for Halloween - she has a very disconcerting stare.

OMG! That's what I love about your tags so much: they always look so much "Astrid". You have a certain way of creating subtle but intense backgrounds and combining them with beautiful elements so all together creates a wonderful whole! No thing only added for embellishment (and thus "too much") and nothing missing! That's what is called art.

Thank you so much for sharing it with us at OurCreativeCorner!

Hugs,
Claudia x

Astrid...I LOVE IT! :) This tag is so cool. Love the background with so many different techniques and textures. The embossed ruler looks so cool on the left side balanced out by the shadowed "Happy Halloween" on the right. Love the little girl and the crow with the crown floating above his head. The textured leaf at the top is a very cool embellishment with the metal pieces joining it. LOVE the ribbon at the top! That really pops! And...the trims at the bottom....spot on perfection! Love it all! Thanks so much for sharing your always beautiful art with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. <3 Candy

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
