Mixed Media piece for a crafty friend

Hello lovely blog visitors, thank you for dropping in.

A while back my wonderful talented friend Heather Jacobs and I agreed to do a swap. Heather lives in Australia and is my all time favourite mixed media scrapbooker. If you don't know her work, check it out and be prepared to be amazed!

Here is part of the piece I made for her:

Anyway, Heather told me about two particular pieces she would like to receive in her swap. The first one I have shown  already, if you missed it you can see it here. The other piece she liked was something I did years ago, she thought it was a post card, turned out it was actually a journal page, so no way obviously I could use that for a swap.

Anyway, thought I would try and re create something similar and put it on the inside of the other card, which was a bit floppy anyway. Fingers crossed she will like this new version too....

Here are some close ups:
Gorgeous Leonardo stamp (I have had it for years, think it is Oxford Impressions). Stamped onto tissue paper and then merged into the background made with a mix of Fresco and Distress paints.
Bits of lace, cheesecloth and tissue tape together with some little chit chat sticker to let her know how much I value our friendship! Heather and I have never met in person (yet) though we have been blogfriends for years, but we both know that one day we will meet.....
Some more tissue tape, lace and background stamping. The lace was high-lighted with some Treasure Gold (hard to see on the photo).
Part of a Paperartsy stamp, again stamped onto tissue and merged into the page.

Well, hope Heather will like my re-creation of the original and that it reaches her safely.....

I am going out to Australia in two weeks time so will post it out from there.

Have a good week everyone and see you sometime soon in Crafty Blogland!

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
