Rustic Charm for A Vintage Journey #90 and a Friday Freebie

Hello all, welcome and happy June!! Hope you are all keeping healthy and safe!
Today sees the start of a new challenge at A Vintage Journey, and this month I am actually the host of the challenge. So this is what we would like you to do:

Rustic describes a design that is natural, rough, aged and casual. We would love to see you create a project using these elements: think nature inspired textures and simple and earthy colours. Just remember to create your project in one of our preferred styles: vintage, shabby, mixed media, art journaling, industrial, timeworn or steampunk.

Here is what I made:
You may remember the tag I made for our tag challenge last week, well today's project is a little holder for this tag, that in turn is part of a gift folder for a pen friend. I will do a full tutorial on how I made the bag in a couple of weeks time on the A Vintage Journey blog, so today I will just share a few photos here.
I tried to match the colours of the holder to the tag itself, and tried to give it a rustic feel with the choice of embellishments, including an actual charm, because of course charm has a double meaning.
I made a little folder for the tag and pocket, which serves as a gift for a penfriend.

It is A 5 in size, the closure is a little altered paperclip, and it is covered with papers from one of the downloadable kits in my Etsy shop. It's called Summer Melancholy.
Here you can see the back of the folder and the next photo will show you what it looks like from the inside.
The tag pocket is stuck down on the left side and the letter for the penfriend is tucked underneath
a belly band on the right.

Now in a previous post I said I would share a freebie again, and as it is Friday after all, why not have that Friday Freebie today.

Like the last time I posted a freebie, the one you see here is just the low res version. If you would like it for printing, please email me and I will send it to you.
Well, that's it for today. Like I said I will do a full tutorial with step out photos of how I made the bag on the third Friday in June over at A Vintage Journey,  and I will also show some examples of what you could do with the freebie here soon,so until then, happy crafting, and do hop over to the A Vintage Journey blog to see the fabulous projects my teamies have created, and we would all love it of course, if you played along with the challenge.
Thanks for visiting here like always and happy crafting!
xxxxx

Simply charming, Astrid. I love the colours on the tag bag - those cloudy Oxides are magical, especially the teal splotches on the sepia background. Gorgeous flower stems too. The whole wallet is so pretty, with the lace trims and those wonderful papers. Lovely butterflies - thank you so much!

Astrid this is such a lovely idea, what a beautiful surprise it would be to see yet more magnificent creativity when that tag is pulled out of it's holder. I love that fusion of purples, pinks & greens together within your die cut flower display, nature at it's best. Thanks so much for sharing.
Creative Hugs Tracey xx

What an oustanding and beautiful piece of art here today Astrid. I always LOVE your work, but this one is just prfect for my eyes, as it contains sooo much of what I love like the beautiful colors and the adorable butterflies, so better go and find your mailadresse to ask for those beauties, even I know, I´m a bit after the scedule here LOL:
Hope you´re all safe and healthy and taking good care of yourself overthere.

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
