Tag Friday for A Vintage Journey

Hello friends and welcome, thank you for visiting today.
It is the last Friday of the month and that means it is Tag Friday at A Vintage Journey, when the Creative Guides share some tags they have made, just for fun.
I decided to make a tag that would fit inside a pocket that I can stick into one of my journals. It is made from old book pages. I found this idea on Youtube and will give you the link, this will be much easier than me trying to write a long tutorial. Of course I gave it my own twist, so below a few details:
The background to the tag was created with some rice paper by Stamperia. I stitched all around it and then decorated with a die cut by Tim Holtz and some fussy cut elements from some Etsy down loads I had in my stash. The lovely butterfly is from a junk journal kit by Artymaze.
The little birds were cut from a postcard from a set by The Old Design Shop.
The pocket was made in a similar way. The background was another piece of the rice paper and then I decorated with various die cuts again. Sorry I cannot remember who made the various dies.
I added some gold foiling to the fern die with the help of a glue stick and some foil paper from Pebeo. (hard to see on the photo) and finished with some old postage stamps on both the tag and the pocket.

Here you can see still how the tag fits inside the pocket. I left the back undecorated as it will get glued down anyway.

Well, that's it for now. If you would like some more tag inspiration, do head over to A Vintage Journey, and if you like making tags yourself, do share them with us, there is a link at the bottom of the post there.

Thank you for visiting here today and have a wonderful month of February when it comes.

Astrid, it is so beautiful, both tag and pocket, and I will have to see how you used the old book pages , so thank you for the link . Gorgeous creations and tones, I`m doing a junk journal myself in the brown-reddish tomes , just now .
Hugs, Dorthe

So beautifully vintage Astrid! That rice paper is a gorgeous base for all of your ephemera and die cuts - and what a great design with the tag fitting inside a little envelope! Julia xx

Perfect vintage style and such pretty images and die-cuts. I love the character which using the old book pages gives this beautiful tag and pocket (that'll be some Dutch I can see going on under there...). Gorgeous work as always.

Beautiful tag and pocket. Why is it about old paper that is soooo amazing when put together with other things, paper, stamps and other ephemera and made to look so used. I love this piece. Great piece Astrid.

Such a stunning tag and I love the idea of the pocket so you can put it in a journal 😀. I loved seeing how it all came together and the papers and vintage style looks so dreamy and beautiful with the gold foil - perfect! I hope you are having a happy weekend! Hugs, Jo x

Another beautiful vintage tag made with your talented hands, Astrid! I never tire of your unmistakable style! I love that rice paper stitched over the book pages and how all of your elements work so well together in these collages. The foiling adds a lovely touch, as does the embossed Wildflower Stem. Gorgeous set to add to your journal! Big hugs!

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
