Leaves are not just for Autumn...

Hello all, hope you are happy and healthy!
Today I have another Christmas card to share, - techniques used were very similar to those used in my previous post
Below a quick step by step in case you are interested.
I started with a size 8 manilla tag and coloured it with a mix of Paper Artsy Infusions and Distress Sprays.  As I wanted a much paler background actually I then added a thinish layer of gesso.
When that was dry I added some stamping and then started to work on the leaf that was to form the focal of this card.
I used a die from the new Sara Davies Autumn Morning collection (available from Crafters Companion). I cut it, coloured with the infusions and sprays again and then put it back in the die to emboss it and bring out the veins which were highlighted with Ground Espresso DI.
I added it plus a die-cut word (Tim Holtz) to my tag and then mounted and layered it to make it into a card. Below some details still: Also did some splatters with Antique Bronze Distress Spray.
Some frosted berries (the "frosting" is some Distress Clear Rockcandy glitter).
Another little die cut, I seem to remember this one is from Sheena Douglass, I had it in my box of ready die-cuts....
And here the completed card...

Well, that's it for today, thanks for your visit!

Very beautiful and such a great idea Astrid to use the tags on Christmas Cards. It has inspired me to make some cards after thinking I would buy cards this year. These are so special but not too demanding.

Love Chrissie xx

Amazing work here as always from you Astrid, it´s really beautiful, and I´m blown away with the look here. I really wish, I could make things look as gorgeous as you, but somehow it just never looks half as nice as yours.

I really didn't think I'd been away this long - and you've certainly been having a productive time... Love the rich autumnal colour base, and then the frosted look it gets with the gesso over it. Another bit of leafy loveliness.

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
