Accordion Flip 3D for Countryview Crafts Nature Challenge.

Hello everyone and thank you for visiting! Today is a busy day here I'm afraid to say... With the first of the month I have an exciting announcement to make: I was invited by the wonderful Chris Warner to become part of the Countryview Crafts Design Team. They have both a challenge and a shop blog, and I will be sharing projects for both.
Today sees the start of a new challenge: Nature's Glories.
As you can see, I decided to make an accordion flip card. With the help of the Karen Burniston die these are easy to make and full instruction are included with the die and can also be found on the Sizzix blog, so I won't go into all that. Just recently I have had the seasons on my mind and when I think of nature, I often think of them. Each season has its own wonderful array of gifts to bring. I created a 4 panel card, each depicting different elements of nature through the year more or less.

The base was made from Core'dinations card, I chose a different colour for each frame and then tried to match the panels with similar colours. The base for the panels were papers from the new Tim Holtz Kraft resist paper stash. This new one has both Kraft and White resist papers, and for this project I used the white to have an easy base to add colour.

This first panel kind of depicts Summer and I used a honeycomb resist paper. Colour was added with the help of the new Wendy Vecchi Archival inks mostly. The stamped flowers are from Heartfelt Creations. The little bee is an Artemio stamp. I also added a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Mercantile stamp set and a remnant rub. The shadow around the flower was added with a Black Soot Distress marker.

This panel has more of a Springtime feel. The background is a wood-grain paper from the resist pad and again I coloured with Archival Inks. The nest is from the Tim Holtz Nature Walk set and the little bird is a Remnant Rub.
This next panel is not strictly nature themed, other than Winter might be the time to note down all those memories of nature observations during the rest of the year. Truth is, I just wanted to play a bit more with some of the stamps in the Mercantile set, which is fast becoming a firm favourite. This time as you can see, the resist was script.
The final panel originally had an arrows resist paper, but it looked too busy to add stamping too, so I turned it round, created some resist effect by stamping a swirl stamp in Picket Fence Distress Paint after I had coloured the panel again with Archival Inks. The pear is from the Classics 1 set.
All main stamps were stamped on smooth card in Jet Black Archival and then fussy cut and glued on.
Well hope you like it. Go and have a look to see what my wonderful teamies have created for the challenge, and of course we all hope you will play along. Details of the challenge and prize can be found by clicking HERE and many of the products I used can be found in the Countryview Crafts shop, and if you live in the UK, you will probably know that there are no postage charges!!!

I'll be back later on with a challenge piece for Our Creative Corner, so if you have the time, it would be great to see you again!
Happy first of May to you all, and wishing you all a happy day with lots of sunshine!!!

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
