Tag a Day project, or the case of the Missing Mojo....

Welcome everyone and thank you for dropping by.

I am sharing another tag with you today. This tag is part of a larger project, - time for confession:

As some of you know, I have been away from home for a very long time, nearly 6 weeks in all. First in the States for work and then in Australia visiting family. (All of my posts during this time were scheduled). Well, somewhere on my travels I seem to have left behind my mojo, and I have found it really hard to settle back into some creativity......

So after trying out some of the usual remedies for this ailment (that seems to hit quite a few of us from time to time), - tidying up craft space, visiting blogs and Pinterest for inspiration, watching videos etc etc, nothing seemed to help really, so -, what to do next.... Well, just keep making things, yes ok, been there, done that, rather mediocre projects to put it mildly, and to those of you that so kindly have commented, a big thank you. Result: still no mojo. So that's where I am right now. At first I thought, that maybe I should dig out one of my zillion unfinished journals and create some pages just for fun. But then I hit on the idea of working on a smaller scale, and that's where the Tag a Day project was born...
So here's the plan (and sorry for this long waffle), I am going to make one tag a day, just playing around, like a mini journal really. And in the end I'll put them altogether into a little booklet to look back and see where it took me. So, here goes, tag no 1. I'm not going  to give myself any pressure to post them everyday, nor am I going to give you all the details on how I do them, I  am just going to play. But if you are really wanting to know something about it, just email me.

So after this long expose, I'll just leave you with some photos.

One of things I will do with these tags is try out some new techniques and re-visit some old ones, stamping, collage stuff, playing with pretty papers, and well, I'll just have to see where it takes me...
Thank you so much for visiting and hanging in there with me, - it is much appreciated!!

Oh Astrid it's not good when you feel dissatisfied with your art and I am sure you will find your creativity come pouring back with such a clever way to kickstart it again. This tag certainly doesn't look as though mr mojo has gone walkabout, I think he is teasing you. I especially love the heart and butterfly and that gorgeous colour palette.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Hi Astrid....such a beautiful start to your tag a day. It will be interesting to see where this journey takes you, sometimes it is at times like this that we grow in ways unexpected. Good journey!

Astrid, I wouldn't have known your mojo was gone, with the beautiful projects you have done, always have done and no doubt will continue to do. I guess we all hit these times when creativity flounders, but I am sure your idea of a tag a day will hopefully bring your mojo back. Sending you warm hugs xxx

Love your tag!!!!

If my missing mojo looked like yours I'd be soo happy. But I know what you mean and I don't have the excuse of traveling and being away from home. But it's missing just the same.. I think it's Spring fever!!! The tag is simply beautiful. Loves the colors uses.

Hello Astrid
Going away on a holiday, often makes you feel this way, but you are doing the right thing, playing with products and designing with no pressure, your No1 Tag is gorgeous, even though you may feel it is mediocre, I find it inspiring, but then I love your work.
I shall look forward to your future Tags, and I know your MOJO will resurface again, it happens to us all and we all fret, but you know it will return eventually.
Hanging in with you,
Smiles:)

I wish I could produce something this beautiful when my mojo does a runner. Astrid it is beautiful but having said that I can understand how you feel. I think you've hit on a great idea for overcoming the problem though and like the others I shall look forward to seeing whatever you decide to share with us. Have fun my friend!

Astrid: Thanks for sharing your comments on how you've lost your mojo, and what attempts you've made to get it back. I'm in a similar funk myself right now. But your tag is far from mediocre. It's fantastic!

If you hadn´t said so, I would never think of any lost mojo here, that´s for sure. Your tag is absolutely gorgeous as always hun. I really love, what you´ve done.
I think you´ve done the right things with no pressure and just let things come by again by itself, then it automaticly will suddenly be back to the same old fun times again.
I´ve been in the same myself here pretty much since Christmas, and I haven´t even been anywhere, just kind of lost the feel of anything and just don´t get things done, even I should, but I really hope, it will get back too real soon, and I sure hope, yours will too, as you´re one of those, I use to get lots of my inspiration from too LOL.

Well I hadn't thought you had lost your mojo as your work is always fabulous - but not a nice place to be. So frustrating - (I am the same after our 6 weeks sailing in the summer). So what a fabulous idea for no pressure play, I shall remember that.

And what a fabulous tag. Look forward to seeing more!

I feel the same as everyone else, your mojo looks really healthy to me, but I guess it's how you feel about it that's important. Your work is always gorgeous Astrid, and I really love this tag and I hope that you find your 'mojo' soon, but in the meantime we will all still adore your art because it's fabulous. ox Marg

I've been feeling the exact same way! I'm beginning to think that there has to be a reason and I should stop pushing myself or being disheartened (difficult when there are DT projects to do)... eventually I know my creativity will return... it always does ... it's part of who we are. I love your pretty tag ... All the details and work put into it ... relax ... everything needs charging now and then ... even creativity. Have a lovely Sunday

What a brave and beautiful post... and what a wonderful decision to release yourself from pressure and just play. I have to agree with the others - this tag is already bursting with returning mojo, I'd say.

Glorious colours, and delicious textures... the patina'd heart looks fabulous. As a whole it has such a natural, yet magical feel. Looking forward so much to seeing where your journey takes you through the next tags...

This tag couldn't be any prettier, Astrid. Your attention to detail really kicks it up and the colors and textures add to its vintage goodness. Your mojo is still with you...just letting you do the work!

Ann said...

Oh no Astrid......but what a good plan with a Tag a Day, I may adopt your idea to see if my mojo is in hiding with yours, LOL!!!
Beautiful tag - love all the textures & colours!!!

This is absolutely stunning Astrid. Did you use polymer clay to make your heart? If so could you tell me how you coloured it? The reason I ask is that this is an area which I myself have just moved into. I hope you don't mind me asking. Thanks for sharing this beautiful project.

Dear Astrid,
ofcourse you feel kind of without mood creating and being on top!!
I can imagine how difficult it must bee leaving a little new grandchild behind so far away, knowing it will be long, untill you see her,and her parents again, my dear friend!
I know that kind of not being inspired!!!
That said, I love your new tag, and start of a little book, showing new techniques- it is a wonderful piece- with all your papers and stamps, -the butterfly with the pen body is ,as the heart so very beautiful, and the glitter makes it the start of a magic fairytale!
Warm hugs,Dorthe

While you wouldn't know it from looking at the tag, I TOTALLY understand what you mean about being gone and losing the mojo. I was only gone 2 weeks, and mine is so AWOL it's ridiculous. And actually, I'm not working real hard to get him to visit. I figure he will come when he comes. But this tag is seriously beautiful. The painted metals are stunning!

You will never loose your mojo sweetie as your fabulous tag shows us.

So glad you are home again and I know the heavy heart you have at the moment. The photos of your beautiful, happy and sunny looking granddaughter are amazing. From what I can see she looks a lot like daddy.

Make yourself a little album for your handbag and when that nasty blue feeling takes hold just look at her sweet little face and the smile will certainly come back.

Take care my friend.

Astrid, sometimes our muse needs a break too I guess but I don't think yours actually left as this tag is absolutely gorgeous. The pen tip butterfly is fabulous as well as all the other elements. You always do beautiful work even if you don't "feel" it. Big hugs,

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
