Playing with portraits

Just playing around with some cool new techniques. The background to this piece was created using the gesso watersoluable crayon technque. My friends Roc and Terri just made a great new video demonstrating this cool way of making backgrounds. A great excuse to get the old Caran D'ache watercolour crayons out of their dusty boxes. I have had these for years and years and don't use them nearly often enough. You can see the video here

Fabulous piece of art Astrid - your background is divine! I've just watched the video and will be trying out this technique sometime. Thanks for the link.

Just popped back to say I've ordered some watersoluble crayons and if anyone is interested in the UK at www.whsmiths.co.uk clearance sale at 3.99 instead of
7.99 for a pack of 10. If you pick them up from one of their stores there is no p&p

You've applied the technique brilliantly, Astrid. I've achieved some interesting results with the watercolor crayons and baby wipes, but haven't tried the gesso. I may give it a go!

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
