Slide mailer

I was recently really inspired by an article in Craft Stamper where they showed some altered slide mailers including mirrors. I made various ones, here is a small sampler.

TGIF "Wonderful Trees"

The theme at TGIF is "Wonderful Trees", suitable theme to the approach of Autumn. Autumn certainly is well on the way here in Scotland, so I tried to create a real autumn mood with my card.

Two Cute Christmas cards

Cute is not usually my thing but I could not resist these stamps from the Scandinavian firm Panduro, I therefore started to make some Christmas cards.

TGIF "Skulls"

The theme at TGIF is Skulls, this in connection with Halloween getting closer already. Though Skulls is perhaps not exactly my sort of theme, - nothing like a good challenge, and I have to say, I did enjoy putting it together. It's what I think you call a hybrid creation, I started it in photoshop elements, then printed it out and worked on it further with inks, stamps, grungeboard etc.

Mixed Media Monday "Time of Day"

The theme at MMM is Time of Day, well, my favourite times of the day are dusk and dawn. I love it when there is still a hint of light, yet you can see the first stars coming out already. My piece is portraying Dawn. I created the background with a dreamweaver stencil which i put through my cuttlebug. The forground image is an altered image from Shabby Cottage Studio.

Gothic arches tag

As part of the Gothic Arches birthday celebrations there are different challenges every week, the Gothic Arches Palooza. Number 3 was to make a tag.

TMTA "Marilyn Monroe"

I haven't participated in Think Monday Think ATC for ages, but today I made this ATC.
Sadly I have no Marilyn stamps so I had to use a found image. Just to make it a bit more interesting I altered her a bit.

Mixed Media Monday "Stitches"

The theme at MMM is stitches. I made a 6 x 6 piece. The background is a mixed media collage with fabric, lace, tissue and fibre to create some texture. I then painted over it with different acrylic paints including some Stewart Gill Alchemy paints, oh and Gesso of course; finally some stamping and inking.I then added some antique buttons and stitching of course, seeing that was the theme.

Gothic Arches "Cupcakes"

Gothic Arches is two years old this week and the theme to celebrate is Cupcakes.

I have to be honest, cupcakes really are not my thing, but I love Gothic Arches and therefore I just had to join in. Ah well, nothing like a challenge, so here is my interpretation of "Cupcakes"

TGIF "The Number 100"

It is the hundredth TGIF this week, and so the theme is 100.
I made a card using a stamping technique demonstrated by Heidi Swap on the Scrapbook.com website. She uses her special masks, I just made my own mask as I don't have any of hers. The image is from Paper Whimsy.

Thank God Its Friday "Banners"

I decided to make a little banner chain for today's challenge.
The central image is one of the wonderful images Art Creations Friday provided a few months back.

Vintage Scrapbook

For the last few days I have been busy creating a vintage scrapbook with the box of old photographs I found while clearing out a cupboard. Here are the first few layouts. I should give credit to the Graphics Fairy for many of the elements I used came from her.

Gothic Arches "Little Boys"

I couldn't believe when I saw that the theme at Gothic Arches is "Little Boys" this week. I am working on a memories/heritage journal/scrapbook, all in vintage style. This is because I found this amazing box of old family photographs while tidying up a cupboard (long overdue)....
Anyway, the image on the cover here is my dad and his brother when they were about 2 1/2 and 5 or so, I think it was taken in 1914. I just love the way they look so prim and proper, not at all what little boys would look like in our day and age. My two sons certainly didn't when they were that age....

SaWo Journal pages

The theme at SaWo is to show journal pages.
Here are two of the pages I did a while ago. Unfortunately I can't show any more recent pages as my present journal is too fat to go under the scanner and my camera isn't working properly...:(

Birthday Card

Birthday Card
Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
