Autumn's in the Air

Hello everyone, welcome and I am so happy you are visiting!
This last week I have had a visitor, this meant a lot less time for crafting and blogging, but it did mean two trips into the Highlands which was lovely, but also left me without doubt, that Autumn is definitely in the air in the corner of the world where I am living.

These autumnal colours were the inspiration behind this little mixed media board which I started a while back (when Annie and Rita were visiting, see this post). I made it from a piece of mount board, starting in the usual way: some strips of paper, texture paste through a stencil or two and then playing about with paints, tissue tape, stamping on tissue paper and inks. By the end of it all, it definitely needed a vocal point, that's how the butterfly (a freebie from somewhere on the net I seem to remember) came into play.
And finally embellishing with some hand made flowers and rusty bits

And a few remnant rubs to finish it all off.
Hope you like it and have a great weekend, thank you for visiting and I hope there will be some sunshine still where you are, here it's all cloudy and misty, very much like Autumn already.

And the Magic Continues

Hello everyone, welcome and thank you for visiting again. Sorry this is my second post today. The first one was scheduled before we left and is a DT piece for Snazzys...

If you have been here earlier in the week, you will know that I am still away in France, having a magical time. It is just so beautiful here, hence the title of this post. While here I am working on a nature journal.
In my last post I showed some foxgloves, there are many growing around here and for some reason they fascinate me. So here is another page that features them among other things.
Like with my previous pages, it's a mixture of hand drawn and painted images and stamping. I think so far this is my favourite page, even though I am not happy with my hand painted images, I think I need a lot more practice....
Anyway, here are some close ups, warts and all:

Here I warmed the foxgloves up a bit more, probably a bit too much....

Some stamped butterflies, I think it's a Crafty Individual stamp...

hand painted Margeritues, they went rather wonky

From a Tim Holtz set

We are still here for a few more days, so I know there will still be another page or two, so bear with me...
Hope you are having a good and creative time where ever you are, thank you for visiting and see you next time.

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
