Winter Wonderland at A Vintage Journey

Hello lovely blogfriends, welcome here on this first day of December! Well, it's going to be a busy day here on this blog, as the first of the month means the start of many new challenges, so here goes, post number 1: A little wintry scene for A Vintage Journey
The lovely Sandy who is hosting our challenge, chose Winter Wonderland as her theme. I made a little reverse canvas (the size is 5 x 7).
Here's a quick step out of how I made it:
I covered the sides of the canvas 's back with a thick layer of Decoart Crackle Paste. When it had dried and cracked, I rubbed brown Antiquing cream into the cracks to give it an aged look.
Next I cut a bit of smooth stamping card created a little mask with a punch, adhered it with low tack tape to where I wanted the moon to be and then coloured the page with Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks.
After removing the mask I still blended a little Stormy Sky over the moon so it would not be too stark, and then stamped a little Tim Holtz tree stamp many times, first in Black Soot and then Chipped Sapphire, going lighter as I wnt up to make them look as if they are disappearing into the distance.

For the foreground I used this tree line piece from Calico Crafts, coloured with a mix of Distress inks and pens. I blended some thick modelling paste over and around it, in an effort to make it become part of the background. I also added a few little stars with a white pen.
Finally, the sentiment was another Calico Craft Part, lightly coloured with some Treasure Gold in Pewter, and that was pretty much it.
Well, I hope you like my little wintry scene and do hop over to the Vintage Journey blog to see the fabulous creations of my teamies!! And if you do have some spare time, do play along, as our sponsor this month is no other than the wonderful Andy Skinner!!

Magical snow scene for Calico Craft Parts

Hello all and welcome. Another sneak peek day today, - time to share a project over on the Calico Blog

This sneakpeek just shows part of a little reverse canvas snow scene. Full details are of course on the Calico Blog. I know it's a super busy time of year, but of course I would love it if you took the time to take a peek. Wishing you all the very best with your Festive preparations. All being well I shall be off to Australia in just a few hours to spend time with my grand children, - well away from ice and snow....
Meanwhile wishing you all the very best for a happy festive season!
xxxxx

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
