And so the countdown begins....

Hello all and thanks for dropping in! I hope you are all well and happy! Today I am sharing my first Christmas card:
I have been so impressed with some of you who started your Christmas cards ages ago already.... and I was determined to start earlier this year than I usually do, so I am pleased that at least I have made a start.

I have loved some of the new Christmas goodies by Tim Holtz, but of course many of them are not yet available in the UK, so I decided to dig out my last year's(and earlier) Christmas things and just make a start with what I have....
The background papers are mostly from last year's paper stash, the nordic design was stamped and then clear embossed.
This little stamp is by Inkadinkadoo, the other elements are Sizzix dies and elements cut from the paper stash. Below a few close ups:
The globe, one of my all time favourite dies, this is the small thinlets version. I cut it from mirri card and then darkened it with a little brown paint.
This was also cut from mirri and coloured in the same way.
Somer little letter stickers, - the inner and outer peace we are all hoping for at Christmas time....
The finished card, mounted on a 6 x 6 card blank. I am going to try and keep my cards quite flat this year, so as to make it easier to send them through the post.

Well, that's it, one down and about 50 more to go.....
Thanks for taking the time to visit

Good for you - making a beautiful start to your Christmas cards. Especially line the symbolism of the world die cut and the muted tones.

Such a wonderful christmascard here Astrid. You made a great start on these and good on you to get started so early. I must confess, I just can´t put myself up to make christmasstuff this early, even I know, I should, but hopefully I´ll get the mood for it soon too. Yours sure looks amazing as always hun. Have a great week-end ahead now.

Herzlichst Sophie

You captured the spirit of Christmas, so wonderfully, Astrid. A beautiful card. And I must say I`m impressed ,of you, sending 50 cards out for Christmas. So much work, and I can imagine, rather expensive to send, too. I used to send about 30 cards fro Christmas, but unfortunately I`m not able to do it after becoming a pensionist,-too expensive here in Denmark. xoxoxo

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
