Inspired by 1....She Dreamt...

Hello everyone, thanks for dropping in. I don't know about you, but I so often get inspired by different blogs or things I find in places like Pinterest. I decided to start a new little blog series that I am going to call "Inspired by". The piece I am sharing today was inspired by Froebel Sternchen Susi who paints incredibly expressive faces almost every day.

During the weekend I had some time to play in my journal and decided to try out my new Distress Crayons and decided to include a face drawing.
I covered a double page in my journal with Tissue wrap and then with a thing layer of gesso.
I used a Bingo Stencil and grunge paste, did some background stamping, added some colour with a mix of Distress Crayons and then did some stencilling, wit the crayons too, rubbing the colour away with a baby wipe. Love the textural effect, definitely something to explore further.
Next I sketched a face with a Stabilo All pencil and added subtle bits of colour with the crayons and a tiny bit of white acrylic paint. I also added a few strips of Tissue Tape and more background stamping of course,
The heart was cut with a Sizzix/Tim Holtz die and then again coloured with the crayons and some stencilling.
Because I thought the girl looked quite sad, I gave her some tear drops, and finally the sentiment was computer generated and that was pretty much it.

Hope you are having a good week with some creative time in it..... Thanks for your visit like always
xxx

What a fantastic piece of art here once again Astrid, and a huge compliment for Susi, that she was able to inspire you to make this wonderful piece here. It´s truly amazing and soo sooo beautiful with all the beautiful colors and all the texture to it as well. I love the ladyface sooo much and the sentiment is just sooo perfect for it too. Really stunning work here, that´s for sure, and I really love it.

What a stunning double journal spread Astrid, a face has an almost ethereal feel to it and so effective how the IB stamp is incorporated into the textures.

You were seriously inspired by Susi here Astrid!!! LOVE the expressive face and the way you've layered up the stamping and texture with plenty of gesso to stop it being 'flat'. Definitely a successful adventure x

Dear Astrid, your face, is so beautiful, she looks sad, yes, and have very soulful eyes and a shivering mouth.... Wonderful with the use of blue, which also gives beautiful shadows in her face.
A wonderful spread!!

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
