The First of many

Hello dear friends and visitors, thank you for being here! Happy Candlemas/Groundhog day! Here's hoping Spring will not be too far off....

Today I am sharing the first page of the book I started a week or so ago. So far I have just shown you the cover, if you missed it, you can see it HERE

I am going to call this book my Techniques Journal, as it will be a place for me to play and experiment with different and favourite techniques. Mostly no long descriptions or tutorials in connection with these pages, but I will show you different elements and name products here and there. If you want to know more, - you can always email me.
Background paper using stencils, texture paste, Distress Inks, paint and sprays, plus a bit of background stamping here and there. Below a few corners in close up.

A little pocket, taken from the Heartfelt Creations 3D flip Album Inserts

A tag to fit inside the pocket.
First stage, cut with Heartfelt Creations die with the addition of a Tim Holtz Mixed Media die.
The second stage, mounted onto black and embellished with Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies.
Shaping the die cuts slightly with a flower shaping tool (or the back of a paint brush) helps to add dimension.
And here the completed project, - page 1 of 10.... so much more to come.
I'll show you the spine next, but that will be on another day.

Thanks for visiting like always and keep crafting and creating!!

Really like the idea of those little pockets Astrid and thanks for the idea to use the Timmy corner dies over the card rather than cut within, as always a lovely textural creation.

This is going to be a knockout of a book, Astrid - already beautiful just at page one (and the cover of course!). I love the depth and intensity of colour; the burnished look and weathered textures give the whole thing such character. Fantastic use of the dies to add that intricate detailing too... looking forward to following this along.

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
