Only you can give flight to your dreams

Hello all and welcome, thanks so much for dropping in! Today I have a journal page to share, created just for my own creative fun and pleasure.....
I started with a double page on which I had just rolled off my brayer after doing several gelli prints.
Next several strips of scrapbook papers were adhered randomly and then covered with a watery layer of gesso
I then added texture through one of Tim Holtz's layering stencils and when dry I added some sprays of Distress Spray to deepen the colour in places. Below you can see the left side. the clock was added with the help of a piece of a paper napkin. It tore in one place, so I fussy cut a little butterfly from an old G 45 paper and glued that over the damaged spot.

An here you can see the other side a bit better. Another image from a G45 paper layered over some chip board, lace etc.
Another little butterfly from the same paper, with a bit of rusty wire across his wings.
The text was computer generated.
Below some more close ups. The whole spread just evolved, when I started I really had no clear plan in mind at all. I think the mistake on the clock actually set the theme for it all...... We can always learn from our mistakes......

Well there you have it. I love it when I get time to just play and I had fun doing this page.
Thanks for visiting like always and stay inky!

Such beautiful colours Astrid. Maybe the tear was meant to happen...otherwise there might not have been butterflies, and they look so good on your pages:)

Fantastic, what a rolled off brayer can do to the background ,-the colours are wonderful, also after the gesso coat, and with the stenciling giving more texture it is a magic background. Love the papernapkin watch and your butterfly, I admire your play, dear Astrid.
Hugs, Dorthe

Such beautiful pages, Astrid - I love that they started from leftover brayering and then the layers and colours and textures build to a wonderfully grungy vintage finale. So glad you had some playtime, and I love the results.

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
