A final goodbye

Hello everyone, a very warm welcome to you all! Today is the day that we say farewell to our little gite in France and go on our way home. It's been totally wonderful, but I am also happy to go back again and can't wait to get back into my own craft space where I will have all my supplies to hand again.

So here is the final page of my nature journal (at least for the time being).

This page started with the little painting of the bird (copied from a photo). Next I had great fun creating the background with the help of stencils, inks, stamps and paints.

I also used some treasure gold and Lindy's Stampgang Moonshadow mists.
Next the little flowers were added. I painted them a few days ago and they were still flying around.
And finally a stamped butterfly and sentiment both from a JustRite set.

As you can see I adhered the butterfly to a scrap of gauze for a little more dimension.
Well there you have it, thank you for all your wonderful comments on this journal, it has been really encouraging and much appreciated!
There is never one way to do art  journaling, the main thing is to enjoy it and to do what gives you joy, and I certainly have done that. If you haven't tried it yet, I hope you will give it a go!
Have a creative day and thanks for stopping by!

Good Morning Astrid

How sad you must feel today at having to leave your little corner of heaven. However your have some lovely memories for you and your family to share in the future.

It is always hard to leave somewhere you love but perhaps there will be a chance to return another time.

Look forward to seeing your projects when you have recovered from your trip home. safe journey sweetie.

The background has drawn me in - the manner in which you blended the inks and the use of stencils has created depth and I believe an air of mystery. It was almost as though stepping into a secret garden.
The touch of gauze was so right.
Astrid, your parting words have struck a chord with me especially as we "chatted" about art journalling recently. I will keep your words in mind once I take that plunge!

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
