Admit Hope

Hello everyone and thank you so much for coming by here. A special welcome to new visitors and followers.

I have had a tricky week and needed a kind of affirmation, I've called it "Admit Hope". Hope is one of these interesting things.... do we really let it in? I could go on a long philosophical sojourn, but really you are here to see what I have made right? So let's not go there. I created this card with a beautiful image from Nicecrane Designs. I printed it on tissue paper, "cut" it out by going around the printed image with a damp paint brush and then carefully tearing it so you get a feathery edge and then adhered it to water colour paper with gel medium. I then blended Distress Inks in Wild Honey, Bundled Sage and Peacock Feather and a tinsy bit of Dusty Concord. I also added a little scrap of a paper serviette and some stamping.

I don't seem to be able to do any project with out adding some embossing with an embossing folder, this is my favourite of the moment, a TH Texture fade border. The raised bits were highlighted with Treasure Gold in White Fire another favourite.
Finally I tore the water colour paper so it would have a rough edge, glued it on a white card stock mat and then a card base out of Kraft card. I stamped my Hope ticket (a Whimsey stamp I seem to remember) and embellished with flowers, a filigree metal charm (a gift from a friend),some gauze (almost totally hidden) and some flowers.
Here are a few more close ups.

Thank you for your visit as always. I really appreciate the time you take to stop by.HERE is a link to the
Nicecrane pack I used. It contains loads of gorgeous vintage Calendar pages, that no doubt I will use next year for a calendar.

Hi Astrid! Beautiful piece as always. so many lovely little details. I like the sentiment 'admit hope' - I think it even has a double meaning. Not only do we sometimes not let it in but sometimes we won't 'admit' to ourselves exactly what we are hoping for. So to admit hope means that we allow it to help us in difficult times and we also allow ourselves to hope. It's right up there with 'dare to dream' but we try to protect ourselves from disappointment by closing ourselves off. There you go, I am doing the pontificating for you. I truly hope your week improves. Hugs, Cindy x

Your words made me ponder over "hope"..... interesting. Your creation is so beautiful Astride...whatever you were thinking of when you created this, was obviously something special and loved. The faded embossing is amazing, live that texture.

WAUW absolut stunning work here again Astrid. It is so gorgeous, that I´m completely speachless.
Hope is something we all need in our life, just ask those, who´s lost all hope, it really ends their life then, so we all have to keep hold on that, and hopefully also pass it on to as many as possible around us, whenever we can.

Superbly 'Astridified' image here (yes, it is a new word in my world:) I love the way you add texture and age to digital images and this is the perfect example. Huge round of applause, hugs Jenny x

Never tried actually printing onto tissue paper Astrid.. use it for canvas projects and the like but never printed onto it and then transferred to watercolour paper to make a card.....need to find a tute! Sometimes Hope can be confused with Faith I think - many people can live their lives without Faith but I believe you cannot go through life without Hope. This is a beautiful card.

Another very alluring project Astrid! I love that there is just the tiniest bit of cheesecloth poking out it added a little texture to that side balancing out the charm. I'm sorry you're having a bad time. There is ALWAYS hope so don't ever feel hopeless. "Ginormous hug coming your way!"

So beautiful - love those Diary images, and you've really done this one proud... I love the texture from the watercolour paper, and beautiful colour shading outwards from the printed image. The flowers are simply lovely. I hope that this gave you some respite from your difficult week: it's certainly lifted my heart.

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
