12 Tags of Christmas Funky Junky Style # 7

Well another week has passed and we are now at tag number 7 of the 12 Tags of Christmas Funky Junky style. Even though I was definitely inspired by the example which you can see here, mine is absolutely nothing like the original...
The main reason for that is that I simply don't own any of the products used by Linda, I could not even do the background in the same way as I don't have the ink refresher that she used to create Tim's Faux Suede effect. Nothing like being inventive however, so I just created a back ground with a similar effect, using Kraft Glasine paper. I used some of Linda's elements like the corrugated card, a deer and a Christmas cottage, but I had to make them in a different way. Her deer is a die, mine is a stamp which I cut out. I did not have a cottage stamp so I used one of Tim's seasonal Kraft resist images and hand drew over it to make the cottage become clearer. I don't have the snow flake die either, so I stamped my snowflakes with the freebie that came with this months Craft Stamper Magazine and cut that out. I put my ribbon in a similar place also, - so those were all my inspiration points. For those of you who are new to this, anyone completing all 12 tags and following Linda's other instructions, is in with a chance to win some fabulous prizes sponsored by the Funky Junky Boutique.
Here are a couple of close up pictures still:

Well, I hope you'll like my tag and I'll be back tomorrow with this week's freebie. Hope to see you then:o)

I love your tag. I'm always impressed with Linda's creations, but I don't have any of the dies either. I CAN and HAVE ordered some from an ETSY shop. I like your inspired by versions and what you come up with to simulate those die cuts. Very ingenious.

A lovely tag and a great take on the original Astrid. I love the use of the Glassine Paper - I have some but apart from making a few flowers have not done much with it! So thankyou for the inspiration.

This is gorgeous Astrid and well done for your use of alternative products to create your tag. It is certainly reminiscent of Linda's but you have made it all your own. Love how you brought out the cottage scene on the Kraft resist and improvised on the snowflakes. I really liked that snowflake stamp as soon as my Craft Stamper arrived. Your Kraft Glassine background is beautiful and I'll have to give this a go.

Hugs

Dear Astrid , your take of the original tag is wonderful. The background with the glassine paper is fantastic-also the colours you have given it-and the little village so sweetly sleeping on top of the cardboard looks so beautiful.
Your snowflakes in golden with the pearls are wonderful with the deer in the same tones.
I love your tag, the white elements gives it a more christmas like feeling.
Hugs from Dorthe

I love how you've improvised your way around the obstacles and come up with a beautiful tag with your signature touches of outstanding vintage ageing, gorgeous subtle colours, and delicious textures. Your hand colouring of the image is so delicately rustic - altogether: yum!

Yummy, yummy background and who needs all the same dies that I used anyway? Your tag came out sensational without them. It's all about inspiration, not copying anyway :)

Love that kraft glassine background - it's one of my favorites. Your vintage image is wonderful and looks terrific on the corrugated cardboard. An all-round terrific inspiration piece. Thanks so much for joining in again this week!

Hugs,
Linda

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
