Symbolic self portrait

This is the second page I have done in my special journal for Pam Carriker's Journalling 365 workshop. The symbolic self portrait was done in conte creayon, you create the highlights with a kneadable eraser. I have never used a conte crayon before in my life and it is quite different from any other medium I have worked with before. The whole process took me well out of my comfort zone but is well worth exploring further. Pam is a brilliant teacher!

  8. Astrid this is really stunning - I must have missed it when I did my usual 'rounds' at the beginning of the week. A well deserved winner of the Art of the Week title, congratulations! You should keep going out of your comfort zone if this is what you produce!

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
