Anything Tim for a Vintage journey

Hello everyone and welcome, so lovely to have you drop by!
Today is a day of celebration over at A Vintage Journey! The reason? We have been going for a whole year, can you believe it?!
Like with our very first challenge, the theme is Anything Tim.
But there is more excitement, because the wonderful Mr Holtz himself is offering an amazing prize for one lucky winner of our challenge. There are also several changes afoot, so make sure to check it all out!!
Now to my project: I altered a little 6 x 6 file folder from my stash, this is what it looked like after I started to ink around the edges:
Next I decided I would use the wonderful new Tim Holtz Correspondence papers as the background to the collage elements I wanted to add.

I used a double layer of papers for the front of the folder and used the new mixed media dies on the top, so the bottom paper would be visible.
Next I gather some collage elements I wanted to add to the front and inked all their edges:
The gentleman is a Paper Artsy stamp, the other elements are either from Tim's ephemera packs or cut from the paper collection.
And here is the front complete, as you can see, I added a flower, but in a way wished now I hadn't, but hey, you live and learn. The numbers are part of an Artistic Stamper stamp.

To balance the flower I added some further collage elements still.

The other sides and flaps of the folder were created in similar ways. Here is the back:

Collage created with stamps from the Mercantile set, the feather is a Spellbinders die.
The front flap (it closes with a little magnet). The word Journey was cut with a Cheery Lynne die.
Here you can see what the whole little folder looks like from the outside.

And below the inside:
I created a belly band for the center part, to tug in some tags for journaling or whatever:
The words are all taken from Tim's new small talk stickers.
The tags fit neatly underneath the belly band, and could of course also be used as little photo mats.

I had great fun putting this together, it's a gift for a craft friend who has been very kind to me and it will soon be on its way.

Do make sure to hop over to A Vintage Journey, if you have not been already, there are some amazing projects from my DT sisters to admire and of course you have to play along if you want to be in  with a chance for the fab prize.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit, and see you next time....
Have a great weekend!

Another stunning project Astrid! I'm really excited about that new die set now that I've seen how it can be used, and a few other things there too!! My wish list always seems to get a little longer every time I visit you, haha!! I actually like the flower, I think it adds a shabby touch that has a lovely contrast with some of the other elements. Wonderful creation! hugs :)

QUESTION FOR YOU ASTRID, SORRY SHOULD HAVE ASKED IT UNDER MY COMMENT ABOVE. WHAT DO YOU USE AS AN ADHESIVE FOR TIM'S VELLUM EPHERMA. I HAVE TRIED MANY THINGS - NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK - IT EITHER BUBBLES UP OR DOES NOT ADHERE. I HOPE YOU SEE THIS AND HAVE A MINUTE TO LET ME KNOW - I AM AT A LOSS. THANKS SO MUCH. KATHY and my email is rodeo8@comcast.net

Hello my beautiful blogging friend. Well ... talk about a bobby dazzler! This is stunning. I like the use of the folder as the base, as it gives it 'background' - sort of like a history, and I really love the belly band and tags - (but I'm a big tag lover, so these would be a winner with me! lol). As for the flower ... I think it's perfect! I've tried to look at it with 'your' eyes and can't see why you wished you hadn't. It's such a 'natural' right where it is.

I'm 100% convinced that your blogging friend will adore it.

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
