Mixed Media Monday "I feel pretty"

The theme at MMM is "I feel pretty". This 4 x 4 page I created last night for a chunky book swap on the theme of Moulin Rouge, fitted just perfectly, for to me it seems that's exactly what she is feeling...

The Three Muses "Hats & Crowns & Wings & Things"

The theme at the Three Muses is Hats and Crowns and Wings and Things. Well I think I managed to use all of them. The background was painted with Golden acrylics and tiny scraps of old book pages. The bird and crown I had lying around among my collage scraps, the cage I drew myself, looking at pictures of one of the latest Tim Holtz stamp plates which I really cannot afford to buy...

In memory of Susan Criser aka Suzee Que

Many of you may have heard already that Susan Criser, better known as Suzee Que passed away last Tuesday, April 13.
This week's crowabout is a tribute to Susan who was so generous, and such an inspiration to so many of us. Although I did not know her in person, I knew her through her generous sharing of images on flickr, and I have so much to thank her for. I've used many of her images in my collages. She will be missed by many, and she will always be remembered through her art, the art she inspired, and the art she contributed to. She was like an angel to the whole art and craft community through her incredible generosity and dedication. We will all miss you so much Suzee!

This journal spread which uses images of the crowabout sheet 75, beautifully put together by another amazing artist Constance Taylor, is dedicated to Suzee Que

Journal page dedication

This journal page is dedicated to Deborah from Land of Nod Studios. Deborah has one of the most amazing blogs and is a brilliant artist. If you don't know her work, go check it out. She is also amazingly generous. She posts incredible vintage photos every Friday as freebees and she has wonderful collage sheets that she offers for free too. The reason I am dedicating this page to her is because recently she sent me the most incredible package of wonderful old ephemera and book pages. Several of them were used as the background to this page and the border and main collage image are also from her collage sheets. THANK YOU DEBORAH YOU ARE GREAT!

Playing with textures

I have been having great fun creating some book covers and an arch shaped atc with some new texture paints I got while in London recently. There is a great tutorial on how to create these kind of textures on Lin's blog. She is the owner of LB Crafts where you can purchase all of the stuff you need. You can find the tutorial here: metaltutorial

The Three Muses "Bye bye blackbird"

Here is my entry for this week's challenge over at the Three Muses.
The main image and border are from Land of Nod Studio.

Mixed Media Painting

This is a mixed media painting I did in my Moleskine journal. Unfortunately because of a collage on the previous page, the paper started to give way so it looks as if there is a big crack in the face.
The painting was done in response to a journal prompt on Roses on My Table. The prompt was to create a page using your favourite flower. I love all flowers really, but the rose must be my all time favourite.

More little houses.

These little houses are for a tag book swap I am part of. They are great fun to do and the perfect way to use up all those little scraps. I have to make eight in all, these are the first four. The actual tagbook in which they will be stored is made following a pattern that can be found on Papercraft planet here

Birthday Card
Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
