Help... a card

Hello everyone and thank so much for looking in here today!

It's not often that I make cards anymore, and I feel I am well out of practice,  but I needed a thank you one and none of the ones that I still had were suitable. It's for a Francophile couple, and so I felt it needed both male and female touches as well as a Paris theme of course...
Almost all of the elements are from a certain Mr Holtz.
The base is  Kraft Card, covered with a piece of distressed paper from the French Industrial collection.
I put a piece of Blue Kraft Core paper through an embossing folder, sanded the raised bit and then inked it lightly. Next came the Stampendous Paris stamp, stamped in Plum Archival. I cut it in a Spellbinder die and inked around the edges while the paper was still in the die with the Plum Archival and some Weathered Wood Distress Ink. I stamped the stamp again, fussy cut the flowers, coloured them with Distressmarkers and then layered them for some more dimension.
Next I stamped the Tim Holtz gentlemen in Black Archival, cut them out, inked them a bit with Antique Linen Distress Ink and a tinsy bit of brown that was still in my ink blending tool to add some shadow.
I stamped the word Thanks with some tiny letter peg stamps onto another piece of the French Industrial paper, cut it into squares and inked around the edges. I then layered it all up with a Tattered Doily cut from the same paper with a couple of embellishments and some ephemera from the collection and there you have it.

Well I hope you like the card, it was quite quick to make.

Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful creative week.

Well, I should say it completely fits the brief - very Parisian and Parisienne!! I love the male/female duality, and the pinks and blues against those rich sepias work beautifully. Lovely layered ephemera and textures... a delicious card!

Beautifully put together Astrid and I love the inking through the die on the image. Lovely images and elements and I am sure it is a card that will be kept for a long time by the recipients.

Beautiful card! Love the "Paris" portion!! I think this will be a huge hit :-)

Funny, the younger generations don't seem to even know what a Thank you Note is let alone make one, or even purchase one......kind of sad....

Happy Crafting

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
