Monthly Candar Journal September

Here is my monthly calendar journal page for September. I am also putting this is for the Three Muses Challenge where the theme is back to nature.
Even though Autumn is now truly on its way I always feel that in September nature is at her most abundant. At least here in Scotland many fruits are only ripening now, we often seem to get more sun in September than either July or August and you can really experience the "fullness" of nature.

Sacred Heart ATCs

A while back I joined a Sacred Relics ATC swaps. It will carry on over several months and each month there will be another sub theme. This month's theme is Sacred Hearts. The vocal point of each ATC was meant to be a heart and of course the ATCs themselves had to have the feeling of sacredness, so no love hearts or anything.
Anyway, here is what I came up with for my three:

Wonderful post!

Today when I came back from work, postie had brought me a wonderful parcel. Inside were my swaps from a postage stamp mini book swap I had joined. The pages are just 3 by 2 but aren't they just wonderful and creative?

I just had to make a front and back cover for them straight away so that I can bind my little book.
Here they are:

Thank you to my wonderful art friends for this great swap! (You know who you are :0)}

A home for my art doll

I had great fun creating a "home" for my art doll, (see below). This was made out of a padded envelope and will become the folder in which I will send her to whoever will get her as this is for a swap. The idea for this was not my own but Constancet's. I asked her permission and she was happy for me to use her idea. Mine looks quite different but you can find her fantastic work on her flickr

This is the folder open:

This is the front when the folder is closed with a place for the address

And this is the back where you can see how the folder closes:

I wonder what the postman will think, - I have sent my altered envies through the post but never anything as big as this, but apparently Constance does it all the time and I have to say I have received some amazing mail art from her in the past.

Final Sacred Relics ATC

Here is the last of the Sacred Relics ATCs. In the original the central images is better visible than in the scan...

A little freebee

I thought it was high time i posted a little freebee again for all my wonderful visitors. Please know that your kind comments are always hugely appreciated!
Please feel free to use in your art in whatever way you want. As the round tag was created with the help of commercially purchased elements, there will be copyright issues no doubt, so please just use in your own private art.

Another altered envelope

Here is another altered envelopes. A different swap and the theme had to be flowers. I love doing these, they are so much fun. I made the actual envelope myself too as they had to be in a size you can't get here in the UK.

The Three Muses "Wheels"

The theme at the three Ms is Wheels. I know wheels are not very prominent in my piece but they are there. The pictures is me when I was about 3 or so. I call it my first wedding.... I have not seen the groom in about 35 years, but hey....
Most elements are from Cathererin Designs

Final envelope journal page

I finally managed to do the last of the six envelope journal pages I had to do for the swap in my art group. They were good fun, but quite a bit of work.

The background to this one was hand painted, inspired by my recent trip to Cornwall

The background to this one was created with the help of a paper serviette.
And here is the tag to go inside:

The Three Muses "Doors"

It's been ages since I played in the Three Ms challenges so I thought it was high time I joined in once more and I love the theme "Doors". So here is my door to fairyland card. This is also the back of the journal page for the swap I mention in the post below.

Altered Mona for a journal page swap

In my art group the theme for our monthly journal page swap was Mona. We always have to stick to the theme for our one side and can do our own thing for the back.
Anyway, as Mona is not my favourite theme to be honest, I just felt I had to alter her quite a bit, in fact I gave her a mate. Mona uses Leonardo's body and Moner has her head. Almost all other parts are freebees from flickr. I am terrible at keeping track of my credits and just say a big thank you to all the kind and generous souls that share their freebees in the public domain!

Envie no 4

I seem to be spending all of my art time making these envies. They take forever.
Anyway, here is no. 4, tags, back and front. I had to scan the tags twice, once with and once without the bead embellishment.

Main image on the front is from a Moonlight sheet, slightly altered. The little bird on the back I cannot remember, I think it may be the graphics fairy

Altered envelope journal swap

In one of my art groups there is a journal swap going on. Each participant has to alter and embellish 6 half business size envelopes, they are the pages. Each of the pages has to have at least one insert with an inspirational word or quote. The pages themselves have to have three things on them: wings, text and number(s). It is to be a chunky journal, so lots of fibres and embellies. They are great fun to do.
