I have two projects to share with you this week. The first one is a Valentines make, a mixed media piece I created to wish all my online friends the most wonderful Valentines day.
I know I am a day late here on my blog, though perhaps not for friends across the pond. In anycase, I hope you had a day full of love! This is a 4 x 6 canvas panel.
And here are a few steps of how I created it:
1. Cover board in Gesso.
2. Adhere diecut (Tim Holtz Thinlets Organic die)
3. Add some stencilling.
4 Colour with a mix of acrylic paints (I used Distress paints as well as some Paperartsy and some Decoart Media paints).
5.Do some drybrushing to highlight some of the raised bits.
6. Add some embellishments: a digital download slightly distressed, a Tim Holtz paper doll and word band, and a Facetted heart also a Tim Holtz die, cut from metallic cardstock and coloured with alcohol inks.
Below a few close ups:
The second project is my calendar page for the past week. Seeing it was Valentines, I also added a heart to my page.
I layered various home made and downloaded ephemera, added some colour with Distress crayon and also a dried fern from my garden.
Well, that's it for now. I hope you will have a good and creative week ahead and thank you for dropping by today!

Happy Day after Valentine's Day, Astrid,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your lovely Valentine projects, I've been sitting here, just admiring every little detail on both of them. Your special way of using texture via color, media, and layering techniques gives depth, interest so much for one to imagine when looking at your creations. The faceted heart is a dream and the blissful blues of your Valentine are intriguing and sentimental.
Oh! Last week's journal page grabbed my heart. I don't know if I can put into words how I am so taken with it other than, "it feels like me". The natural colors and earthiness are utterly soothing. I love the random script, listing and your sweet fern is like a piece of natural green lace embellishing the page. A treat for my eyes. Have a perfect weekend!
Both wonderful projects and the use of your own fern has certainly got me thinking of what I could press from our garden.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day
Love Chrissie xx
