Geliplate fun

Hello lovely visitors. After watching some videos on youtube I decided to dig out my geli plate and have some fun making backgrounds. I had a couple sessions and landed up with a bunch of prints, but then, what to do with them all?

Well another video by Kate Crane gave me some ideas and here are the results:
I used Paper Artsy and Decoart Media paints, stencils and stamps, and with one of my prints created these 3 cards. There will no doubt be many more projects to follow, so stay tuned...
I added some more stamping (the heart is a Finnabair stamp which I fussycut), some messy stitching, some washi tape and some words computer generated. The cards are tiny only 3 x 3 and then double matted on manila crd stock to make the fiished cards 4 x 4".
Here basically exactly the same idea, some further stencilling and stamping scraping with a credit card and just having some messy fun.

And here finally a third one. These little cards will be handy for quick gifts and will also be easy to send through the post, always a good thing. While I was at it, I made some matching envelopes. As I had used some of the Prima Lavender collection to embellish my cards, I used some more of those papers to make the envies.

Well, that's it for now, - hope you are all having a good week, and thanks for your visit like always!

  1. What a fabulous array Astrid, I adore those colours, stitched edges and those extra additions. I have to admit all the Luscious Gelli Print creations showing on Instagram at the moment has inspired me to pull out mine along with the last lot of prints I created.
The thought of clearing a space always puts me off getting mine out but when I do I spend days just playing. I'm in need of replenishing my depleting cards and have some free time coming up soon.. Yay!!!!
Wishing you a wonderful week.. Hugs Tracey xx

  13. Wow Astrid, these are just gorgeous! You really made some wonderful and interesting pieces with that geliplate! Love the colours and the fabulous frames too!! I've just been perusing all the posts of yours that I missed and I saw the wonderful page with the Chickadee that you drew! I'm not sure if you check your old posts for comments, so I wanted to make sure that you knew how much I love your drawing! I'm so honoured that you are inspired by my photographs and I apologize for not being here when it was posted. Thanks so much for the smile you put on my face this morning, I needed that! Sending hugs :)

  14. They are so lovely, both cards and envelopes, a dream to receive in the postbox, dear Astrid.
The colors you used when geli printing are gorgeous with the added black stamped elements , and all so romantic and beautiful.

  15. Gorgeous small pieces of art Astrid. I have a bit of a love/hate feeling about my Gelli plate. When she co-operates all is fine, but often she is fickle and just makes a muddy hot mess!. Yours however, are charming and I can see i must try again. Thanks for the inspiration.

  17. Hi Astrid! Here I am playing catch up again. Your small pieces of art are absolutely gorgeous!! I don't own a geli plate(can't really justify the cost) but I really love the results you get from them. Loving the colour mix and, as is always the case, loving your embellishing as well. These cards are stunning and so are the envelopes! hugs xx
