I have been busy setting up the new March pages for my bullet journal.
March cover and gratitude page |
Setting up a new month always takes quite a bit of time, and this month I decided to take a few shortcuts: I spent a happy afternoon painting a leaf wreath with watercolous only. I then scanned that page and use it to decorate all of my March pages. I did it for two reasons, - to save time, but also because I have found it more and more frustrationg that any watercolour or pen work directly in the journal, bleeds through the thin pages of my Leuchtturm journal. This is a well know phenomenon and the bulletjournal communty calls it ghosting.
I did a few original drawings still, but mostly just used my scans.
Here you can see the original scanned painting, which I resized and used on the various following pages.
My weekly spread for the for this week, transitioning from February into March.
My monthly spread. The top here is the only other original drawing I did, I tried to match the clours but used pencils rather than watercolours. (They still ghosted through somewhat).
Monthly habit tracker with a bit of doodling to the side of the wreath.
Blogging schedule and keeping track of my spending (usually way too much specially on craft) |
Just print it on your printer's best setting (I used glossy paper)
You can resize them to your own needs of course in any photediting programme.
Well, that's it for now and like always thank you so much for taking the time to visit, I really appreciate it.

Thank you, Astrid! lovely planner pages - and thanks for the wreaths. So Spring-7 :) Bev.
ReplyDeleteLove the little wreath, and a great idea to scan it so it doesn't bleed though. Thanks for sharing, too. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteLike how your colours are transforming with the season to reflect (hopefully) Spring blossoms and new growth.

Thank you for the gift Astrid, it is so beautiful. You journal pages have so much for you to think about and to fill in. Not sure I could ever keep up with one of those. I do have a diary this year and even that is getting forgotten some days.
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissie xx
Your watercolour wreath is so beautiful Astrid and so kind of you to share it with everyone xx I must try to organise my days better as I seem to be running late all the time !!!
ReplyDeleteCatch up soon
Hugs Annie xx
Just as beautiful as ever Astrid, and I´m really impressed with your coloring with watercolor. That´s just one thing, I´ve never been able to manage, so I know how difficult it is, and yours just stand as it was done with ordinary pencils, that´s awesome.
ReplyDeleteYour entire page is fabulous and spot on once again.
Thanks sooo much for the freebies and have a great week ahead.
Beautiful pages for the coming month. The watercolour wreath is lovely and your pages so organised. Thank you for the freebie offer.

Super clever made Astrid and this wreath is amazingly beautiful - Lovely of you to give it to us as a freebie! Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteWondeful prepaired pages - a pitty that this paper is so thin ! Good that you tell us about this - my daughter wanted to have such a journal, but as it was too expensive she took a normal cheap hardcover booklet with white pages. I will tell her that she did the right!

You created such pretty March pages for your bullet journal! It was a great idea to use the scanned image of your pretty watercolour wreath and I think the ghosting would drive me crazy 😉. Wishing you a happy and creative week my friend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteA beautiful introduction to March Astrid, your watercolour paintings are so detailed and what a treat for us all to be given access to them to download, so very kind of you.
ReplyDeleteI had heard about the ghosting of this journal before and it does seem such a shame, it put me off as I am so heavy with both paint and pencil but it is good to know you have already taken this in hand by using your artwork from print. I can envisage us seeing even more collaged beauty in the coming months. Thank you so much for sharing.
Creative Wishes Tracey xx
I do so enjoy seeing how you build up your bullet journal, the wreath you created is beautiful, it is so clever to make it in different sizes to save time too - very clever indeed! The only paper I know of that definitely does not bleed through is Render paper, you can see some here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/RENDR-marker-paper-sketchbook-14x21-5/dp/B00915UUUU
ReplyDeleteI have used it and it really does work. Too late for this year but maybe next year? Hugs, Anne xx
Your wreath is SO lovely! How clever to scan it and reuse it on future pages. Thank you for making it a download. Love your bullet journal this month. Very delicate and feminine.

Your planner is looking so good - I work on my planners mainly a week at a time! I am comforted to find that it's not just me that hates the ghosting! I use mainly stickers, cut outs and washi tape in mine although I still use it for practicing my drawing and lettering when I can!Chrisx
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a bullet journal, but it does seem like it takes some time to be ready for the month. I guess you don't have to make such a pretty journal as you did, and there is a lot of variety how people make theirs I believe. Nice ring of leaves and I am glad you ready for March. Really, March already. But that means we're closer to real long lasting spring, not the day we get that then disappears. :) Happy end of February. And thanks for the camera comment you left on my blog the other day. Ut was very helpful. :) Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThank you Astrid for providing the lovely downloads!
