Well it's the first of the month and that means a new challenge at the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge blog,
Our sponsor this month is:
owned by our very own DT leader Donna Bowman!!
I created a set of 3 ATCs and a gift tag, using Crafty Individual stamps that Donna very kindly sent me:
Here is the graphic for this month's challenge, please make sure to add it to your post if you decide to play along with us!!
Below a quick run down of how I put them together:
I started with a set of 3 hardboard ATCs that have this decorated top layer to go with them. They are available from a UK company called Calico Craft Parts.
I started by creating a mixed media masterboard, using gesso, acrylic paints, stencils, stamps, a brayer and my fingers, - great fun to do!
Next I stamped the Parisien Ladies in Black Versafine ink, cut them out and coloured them lightly with Distress Inks (Antique Linen, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo).
I cut my masterboard to size to fit between the layers, painted the cover pieces in the same way as the background and then put my ATCs together.
Here is the first one, once it was all adhered together I darkened the edges of the inner piece with a Stabilo All pencil to create some shadow and give it all a bit more depth. I also added some washi tape and some of Tim Holtz's tiny flowers, plus a sentiment, one of the Tim Holtz small talk stickers.
Here is number two, as the three ATCs are really a set, I used similar embellishments on all of them.
And here is number 3, all pretty much the same, just with slightly different placements.
Now after finishing my ATCs I had this little square of background left, plus one of the Parisien ladies, so decided to make a little gift tag/card, using part of an Eileen Hull ATB diecut as the base which happened to be flying around my desk, a leftover from a previous project.
I used the French text stamp to add a little texture to the outside and inked the edges a bit.
And here the inside, just the perfect size to fit my left overs....
Well, that's it for now. Make sure to check out the challenge blog for all the details of our challenge and to see what my inspirational teamies have created. And if you decide to play along, - don't forget to add our logo for this month!!!
Thank you for your visit today like always and see you next time!
