This page came about while struggling with issues like that, - trying to carve out some time to create art, without feeling guilty I should actually be visiting blogs and leaving comments etc. I am really sorry I have been a bad blogger recently, I know I am missing posts from many of you and I do want to apologize!!
This page started on a loose piece of watercolour paper that was covered with a thick layer of gesso and texture paste and then coloured with various Decoart Media paints. I added many layers with subtle background stamping in between.
Further textures were also created with dabbing my finger into the still wet gesso and then dry brushing with lighter paint colours. The little gears above are actually old clock parts I purchased on ebay a long time ago (I found them when doing a massive clear out recently). I rusted them up a bit with rusting powder and vinegar.
The sentiment was created with the help of a set of little letter stamps on A4 paper and then cut into words.
Here you can see some of the background stamping and splats and scrapes created with the help of a small paint brush and an old credit card.
This main stamp is from La Blanche. I named her Angel of Time and stamped her on tissue paper and then blended her into the page. I added a few more clock parts to the center of the clock in the stamp.
Well that's it pretty much. Thanks for your visit today like always and I hope I shall find the time to come and visit you in return. Maybe my angel of time will help me.
Have a wonderful weekend with hopefully some creativity within it.

We could all do with an angel of time these days -but especially when she is in a setting as beautiful as this! The fabulous textures and colours here had me scrolling back and to so many times before I reached the comment box! Wishing more time for you this weekend! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteJust stunning! I adore that background - what beautiful textures and colours, and the stamped image is gorgeous. I think we all have phases where life becomes a juggling act, but I'm so glad you found time to make this beautiful piece of work!
ReplyDeleteEven knocking social media off my list I still struggle with time and balance of the other three and I know if we get some half decent weather outside activities will present yet another pull.
ReplyDeleteIt's yet another glorious piece of textural artwork Astrid and each time I pop in I am inspired to have a play and am gradually gaining confidence to layer the grunge paste a little thicker, add a bit more ink and so on. One day I might even have something worth blogging.

Oh yes I feel the time struggle!!! Fabulous page with great depth and texture. Have a lovely weekend xx
ReplyDeleteYet another gorgeous project Astrid, love the rusting clock parts in the center of the stamp. I agree with Rachel, Guilt is something you must not feel, life cannot have you glued to the computer, enjoy your crafting and enjoy spending your time how you want. Catch up with us when you can you need to craft for fun without pressure or it looses its magic. Mo x
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous textural page Astrid. Time is something we all would like more of these days.
ReplyDeleteYvonne xx

Wonderful page, Astrid. Love the texture.
ReplyDeleteOh Astrid, this is fabulous. I adore the colors, textures and your style.
ReplyDeleteA magical piece of Art, with complex layering and texture. The Angel is truly special and I hope she helps you with your time management. I think the main focus is always to create; if and when you have time for the rest, that's OK. If you don't have time, that's OK too. Crafters will always understand.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous page Astrid and don't worry about visiting us, just keep sharing your lovely art with us and we will be happy! Hope life slows down so you can enjoy spending more time doing what you love, Deb xo
ReplyDeleteAn absolut stunning page here again Astrid. I love all the textures and definitely relate to the text on it too, as I´m exactly the same, and alaways feel guilty too, because there´s always some things, I didn´t get to, no matter how hard I try, so no need for you to appologize, cause then we all should, I think.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week-end and lots of great fun, cause that´s what life is about isn´t it?
Adore your beautiful Angel Astrid and I hope you manage to get a balance so you can enjoy guilt free crafting xxx
ReplyDeleteYou create such wonderful textures and blend the colours so well............awesome

Wowsers!! This is totally awesome Astrid!! The colours and textures are simply to die for .. how I wish I could half as well. You never cease to amaze. No need at all for apologies. I think we have all been in the same place Astrid. Just keep sharing your gorgeous work and we will be content!! hugs xx
ReplyDeleteAstrid, I know what you mean about the balancing act of all the above. fortunately for me, I do not have that day job any longer, I seriously have no idea how I could ever do it or ever did!
ReplyDeleteThe social media thing is getting really difficult as well, I am sticking with blogs and twitter, FB does nothing for me,not that it ever did! I have to be there because of DT requirement, otherwise, I'd be Adios!
On to your piece, I love it! I always love your palettes and how easily you meld colors and product together- a real gift my friend! xo
Wow! Love this project too!!! Great colors and texture!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Astrid! First of all let me say how much I relate to your feelings here. I love and want to support my bloggy friends but at the same time I really HAVE to carve out time to create. Such a hard task to balance it all. But they always say you make time for the things that are important to you. So I guess we just decide to cherish each moment and do what we can and be satisfied with it. Whaddaya say? :) seriously this page is truly inspired and amazing. Love your finger painting and the great texture you achieved. Hugs, Autumn
ReplyDeleteOh, how I empathise - I've been a terrible blogger lately... but I'm trying to work on the basis that there's no point beating myself up about it - life requires the attention it requires.
ReplyDeleteI'm blown away by the glorious page you've created here - stunning textures and the depth of the DecoArt colours is just wonderful. Beautifully done!

Agree with you and what everyone else has said, it's a challenge balancing so you do what you can do when you can do it and just enjoy the whole crafty environment we exist in for what it is and don't beat ourselves up about it. Enjoy our moments! Back to your fab piece, LOVE the texture and colours, so scrummily distressed! Ruth xx
