First of all a BIG thank you to all those of you who ordered stamps. Nearly 30 packets went out earlier today, so I am hoping they will arrive safely at their destination. Some of you are still on my "waiting list", just so you know, I have not forgotten you, but as I am busy all week it will have to wait until next Sunday.
On to today's project:
It's my oldest granddaughter's birthday soon, and this is the card I made her.
As some of you know, she lives in Australia, so in her mind her birthday is in Spring of course, while here in the Northern Hemisphere we think of it as Autumn. So on this card I wanted to illustrate both seasons going on right now. Here are some details:
The card itself was made using the accordion Flip 3D dies by Karin Burniston for Sissix, both the album and the frame. For the base I used Kraft card. and for the frame green Core'dinations card. For the Spring side I made a background using various sprays and inks. The butterfly was a little wooden embellishment to which I added some texture etc.
The Autumn side has again an inky background. The sweet little squirrel is made up from two Calico Craft parts, coloured with a mix of paints and Distress Markers. The sunflower was made with a Heartfelt Creations die.
An autumnal cluster made with mostly Sizzix by Tim Holtz dies.
And a flower cluster, the flowers were made with another Heartfelt Creations flower die and coloured with some of my new Shimmerz paints and sprays.
Well, that's it for right now. Making these accordion flip cards are really good fun, I had left mine to gather dust for far too long. Don't be surprised if there are a few more appearing soon.
Thank you for visiting like always and have a fun creative week. Mine will sadly be rather busy with my day job, but such is life....

Another stunning creation here Astrid. I´m very sure your granddaughter will just love it. You really managed to mix the 2 seasons sooo well on it, so it still feels just as one with these amazing colors here. WOUW 30 packs of stamps, that´s a lot. It must really give some great space in your stamps to find, what you need afterwards then ha ha ha. But I know, sometimes we just need to clean out a bit in things, that´s simply nature and sooo nice, when it IS done ha ha ha.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead now, and hopefully not too much work.
A stunning card and such a wonderful shape to show off all the wonders

Beautiful card for your granddaughter, I imagine she will be thrilled with it. 30 packets of stamps sounds like a lot, you must have went through a big clean out ! I've given away so many stamps over the years and I enjoy clearing things that I no longer think I will use. (occasionally I've looked for something I know longer have). Take good care, Shirleyxx
