A dapper gentleman

Hi all and thanks for coming by here.
Today I am showing you the next spread in my altered book. I am not completely happy with it, but ah well, sometimes you win sometimes you loose.

Just showing a few photos and not doing a full step by step. What I did is pretty much the same as on my first page, which you can see here

The gentleman in the picture is another relative of my hubby, his name was Alan and he was the brother of DH's grandfather, a bit of a rogue and the black sheep in the family. This picture was taken in 1905.
Anyway, here are some further close ups, the whole double page looks a little better in real life.

I tried to keep all the embellishments and colours more masculine. All the cogs and gears are die cuts, made with a Cheery Lynne die.
The stencil, used for texture is my favourite of the moment,: Memorybox Lathenay.

Anyway, that's it for now.
Thanks for visiting like always!

  2. It´s absolutely amazing work Astrid, and very masculine too, I think. I love the colors, you´ve used on it, and all the set up on these pages are perfect and so beautiful. If I could just make anything look like this, I would definitely be a happy bunny, that´s for sure ha ha ha.
Have a wonderful day now and lots of great fun.

  32. These pages are beautiful, Astrid. I know that it's a personal thing - but to all of your followers, and me, we all think the pages are incredible.

But again, ... I know that art is a personal thing and we, the artist, have a vision of what we're aiming for, and sometimes that vision doesn't quite come out of our fingers.

I love the pages. I think they're truly amazing. So if I (and all your followers) think that same thought ... whatever you tried to make happen must have been other-worldly!

Sending love, as always, ~ Cobs. x
