A friend of mine has been having rather a hard time and I felt she needed something to cheer her up. She is not at all a crafty person, but she likes the kind of stuff I make, so I decided to make her a card, just because.....
It was almost entirely put together out of things that were flying around on my desk. The base is a 6 x 6 folded bit of cream coloured card. The panel was a bit of embossed Core d'inations card that I sanded to bring out the Kraft core. The butterfly tag (using a Kaisercraft stamp), never made it to another project, but seemed to fit just right here.
The wonderful flower was a gift from my friend Rita from RMG creations, I loved how it suited my colour scheme just perfectly. The embossed ruler was another gift, this time from the lovely Louise of Zuzu Petals 'n Stuff.
To add a bit more interest, I cut a Frameworks die from manila card, covered it with Picket Fence Distress Crackle paint, when it had dried I coloured it with Walnut Stain Distress stain. The inserts are little bits of the new Kraft resist papers by Tim Holtz which I coloured with a mix of Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks, to blend in with my background panel..
The tag is from the tiny tabs and tags die and the leaves are from the Spring Greenery. The words are chit chat sticker.
I added a couple of the little inserts to the top right hand corner still and that was that.
Well hope my friend will feel a bit better soon and if this helps then that will make me feel happy.
Have a good and creative week everyone, I won't have much time for crafting, but hopefully will be able to visit you at least sometimes.
Such a beauty again dear Astrid, love your image and colours a lot, and I love all those pretty details as well!!
