Oh no..... first of the Christmas cards

Yep, the time has arrived, I have decided I simply must start with my Christmas cards... But first of all, welcome, thank you for being here and a special welcome to new visitors and followers, I feel honoured you have decided to follow/visit.
All right so above is the first one. I have challenged myself to a) start in good time to avoid panic later, and b) to use up old Christmas papers, embellishments and stamps rather than get new ones. I have a ton of  papers, and never seem to use up a whole collection, so this one here is from a Kaisercraft collection from last year and all the other bits and pieces were from my old Christmas box as well.
And here is number two, using scraps from the same collection of papers.
As you can see I used a couple of Tim Holtz/Sizzix dies for this one too, Tattered Banners and Tattered Doily
So, short and sweet today, and I feel happy that at least I have started........

Thank you for visiting and have a lovely Sunday still and creative week ahead!!

  8. Well done for making a start on the Christmas cards and also for using up some of the stash. Each year I say I won't buy more seasonal 'stuff' but it seems to accumulate somehow. These two are lovely.

  11. It's an utterly lovely make, Astrid,

and concerning the cold weather your idea of starting your X-mas cards production is definitely a good one. Have thought about it too (and I am no X-mas card maker at all...but have a lot of lovely papers that should be used some day ;).

Love your layering and the soft warm colours. Whoever gets this card is in for a treat!

    Hugs,

  15. Hi Astrid, I am loving the vintage cards you have made here especially the tattered doily one, I like the use of the fibres around the flowers. Now you have made a start I am sure you will soon have all your christmas cards done and dusted in good time. Hugs Mo x

  16. They're lovely, Astrid, and what a fine resolution to use up existing stash rather than splash out. I love the red and white of the first one, with that fab stitching around the edges...

Off to clear out the eaves now, but wanted to do a bit of catching up with friends before Blogger gives out on me again!

I did get out some papers and stamps at the weekend but haven't got very far yet. Like you I have loads of Christmas papers so am determined not to buy any at all this year or stamps either! Hmmm, I heard that one before, lol!
