Alright, so here we are, tag number 12....
This whole project has been a great process for me, and has been hugely helped by all your wonderful comments and support! Many of you kept saying that you didn't think I had lost my mojo, the thing is, I really did.... right now it comes and goes, but I think that's normal. You see I think the thing with mojo is, it's all about how you feel, and not about the outcome of your projects...
Anyway, part of this project was experimenting with colour and texture, in some of the tags it was more about texture, in this one it was more about colour.
The main stamp is the Blazing Poppies by Indigoblu. I first saw this stamp used on the blog of the wonderful Paula Whittaker, and was so inspired that it went straight to the top of my wishlist. She has made several other projects with it since, - check them out, they are amazing!!
Anyway, here is my play with it. The background was inked with Wild Honey, Bundled Sage and Crushed Olives Distress Inks. I used the Crafters Workshop Chicken Wire and Chicken Wire reversed stencil, because they remind me of honey combs. The bees stamps are from Tim Holtz and the little butterfly at the top is from a Just Rite set. The emellishment at the top that was bright silver to start with was treated with numerous EPs and paints until it had a suitable rusty look, and the sentiment was computer generated.
Here are some close ups still:
I stamped the flowers and leaves twice and fussy cut them to add more dimension. I also used some Adirondak ink in Coffee with a water brush to add a bit of shadow and make the flowers pop a bit more.
Well, there you have it. Again, thank you so much for all your support during this project. I still have a new cover to do, but think I will give this project a bit of a break for just now.
Here finally you can see a picture of all 12 tags together:
Thank you so much for visiting and have a great week!

I love this tag! It's beautiful and the color is fantastic. All of them have been beautiful. I think you hit upon a great way to overcome a temporary loss of mojo. I'm planning to keep it in mind for when my mojo takes a vacation!
ReplyDeleteSTUNNING Astrid, sooooo beautiful. This has been a truly inspirational journey watching your new tags emerge one by one and I have loved being a part of it, albeit as an onlooker. This last one is gorgeously vibrant with the colour palette you have chosen and with the fabulous imagery is a wonderful sight to behold. Congratulations on your achievements you have done a magnificent job. I think if they were mine I would mount them on a framed burlap panel. I am sure you will look back on them often and feel more motivated to create something new.

what an amazing mojo collection! of tags, love the yello and that stamp of tag 12, but think that 3 and 4 the Blues are my overall favs , it's been a great inspiration to watch you create these tags, Debi x
ReplyDeleteSuch a most happy coloured and very beautiful "last" tag dear Astrid!
ReplyDeleteThe flower stamp, and the bees are wonderful, and I love you white painted the tiny ones, which gives light to the yellow shine. The silver piece you treated with EP? looks so amazing - and there are so many layers of stamps and paint, ,which gives a beautiful depth in your gorgeous tag.
Thankyou for taking me on this wonderful tag tour, the last almost 2 weeks my friend...you alwayes inspire ,-and teach me new things!!
Hugs and love, Dorthe
I can only imagine the beauty that will flow through you when your mojo is in full swing! All of your tags are outstanding!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a stunning selection of tags - beautiful work Astrid!
ReplyDeleteYou've asked me about the Tea Time napkin. I usually buy my napkins in a local department store as they carry a beautiful selection there. I tried to Google the manufacturer for you but I don’t think they have a retail website. The only place online I was able to find them is this: http://en.dawanda.com/product/36071393-TEA-TIME-TEAPOT-NAPKIN-DECOUPAGE-SERVIETTE
Hope this helps! xx
Gorgeous, golden, glowing (sorry, bit alliterative today)... and that green verdigris texture on the filigree piece is just glorious (yup...).
ReplyDeleteI've been so inspired by your process through these tags, and the openness with which you've shared your qualms - thank you for that, and for the beauty and creativity you've shared with us too over the last couple of weeks.
Alison xx
WOW!!! Number 12 finishes the lot amazing! It's gorgeous...flowers and color, and I love the BEE theme! What a fabulous collection! I truly love them all Astrid! Your mojo is back in full force!
ReplyDeleteThis is my absolute favorite tag!!! I think that I need to get his stamp too.
ReplyDeleteAll of your tags have been so beautiful, but #12 really got me. I've just done some bee themed cards so along with butterflies what could be prettier?? Love the colors you've used. Oh my, never thought I could actually pick a favorite, but this one is IT.
ReplyDeleteAstrid, wat mij betreft ga je nog maar even door met al die prachtige tags! Ik heb van elk genoten - keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS,12 glorious tags, everyone one of them.. This last one is so beautiful they backgrounds is blended wonderfully, those flowers almost look real on there. I too love the honeycomb, the only way I can achieve that look is by, spritzing ink on bubble wrap and laying it on cardstock to dry, I will have to invest in that stencil, its beautiful. You're right about how we feel, last week I was in a funk and just couldn't get to my desk. I wish I could send you a lovely roll of wide lace I have the tags would look gorgeous framed in white lace. Thats my idea:O). Thanks for so inspiring me with your work, have a wonderful day.Look at all 41 wonderful comments, well deserved my dear..
ReplyDeleteWow, Astrid, ich bin angesichts der prachtvoll gestalteten Tags überwältigt, sie sind wirklich atemberaubend schön!

It has been so much fun to see what beautiful tag you've created next and I've thoroughly enjoyed reading your process on each one. It's been especially helpful to read how you've tinkered with something that didn't come out exactly how you planned and how you went about getting a more pleasing result - something I need to do pretty frequently, lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for being such a wonderful teacher and inspiration Astrid. I just love visiting your blog every day :)
Each of your tags is equally lovely and shows how diverse you are. I have enjoyed seeing your work as you progressed through this muse awakening exercise.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is No. 11. I love the clusters, the layering , and the coloring...beautiful!
A beautiful background Astrid which showcases those stamps perfectly. I love how you've aged your metal embellishment.
ReplyDeleteThe full set of your tags shows a stunning set of artful magic Astrid.
So creative!
Juliaxx
Lovely tags Astrid! Each and every one...but I think you saved the best for last! Great idea to just play and experiment.
ReplyDeleteThe colour blending diagonally through this tag holds the rest together so well and makes the tag glow with a real warmth. Your final set of tags should be treasured to inspire whenever you need a push. They are an absolute triumph. Hugs, Jenny x
