As I am going to be away from home for the most of May, I did my May monthly calendar page a bit earlier this month, just to have it ready in good time.
For those of you who don't know, quite a group of us are doing this every month. More information can be found on Kate's blog here
I am such a hopeless photographer, I think you'll have to click on the picture to see some of the detail.

Happy Easter and some Freebees
New ATCs
Here are some ATCs I made for a swap I am in at the VintagePhotoImage ATC yahoo group. The theme was whimsical flower babes. I haven't made ATCs for ages and actually found it quite a challenge.
They became so fat they did not fin in the normal sleeves, so I had to make little holders for them all, - a good way to use up some bits and pieces of paper if nothing else...
Finally, in the post above this are some more of my background papers free to use for any of your spring projects. I am also showing a photo of one of the papers I used to decorate a candle.
Here's how to do that:
Cut out some thin tissue paper. With low tack tape tape it to some normal copier paper, preferably in the middle of you paper.Load this paper into your printer.
Open your design and print on your printer's best setting onto the tissue paper. Carefully remove tissue paper from its backing. Layer it onto your chosen candle, holding it in place while you carefully heat it with your heatgun. The tissue paper melts onto your candle, - it's that easy, just take care to keep moving your heatgun so the wax does not melt too much. Have fun!

Altered box and some vintage Easter Eggs
Here is an altered cigar box. I covered and lined it with Prima Botanical Collection papers. It is a real old cigar box which I got for free in a tobacconist.
I am also working on some more papers myself in a similar colour and style which I will be posting soon.
The lid of the box
The inside of the box.
The colour of these papers is much more light sage green, not turqoise like on these photos (sorry).
Here is a selection of vintage easter eggs. They are blown out eggs, gessoed (you can't get white eggs in the UK) and then covered with tissue paper. I then stamped and/or printed on some more tissue for the designs and then modpodged it onto the eggs. Stamps are from Oxfort Impressens and Stempleglede. Images from the Graphics Fairy, thank you!!

Mini book pages and tags galore
I signed up for a mini book page swap on a new swap site I've joined. We had to create 5 4 x 4 mini book pages using the Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers. The pages needed to include at least one tag and plenty of embellishments etc. We also had to create a tag for each participant in our group with our address details on the back. I'm new to this kind of scrap page creation so it was quite a challenge for me, but hey, nothing like learning new things....
I made most of the flowers myself and also the charms.
You'll need to click on the image to get the detail of the 5 individual tags.

Easter project
The other day while grocery shopping I found this beautiful big Easteregg. Unfortunately it was packed in the standard big ugly plasic box. Then I had this idea that I could alter the box...
I cut away the front and covered it all with Graphics 45 Once Upon A Springtime paper. I have a set of matching stamps (Hero Arts if my memory serves me correctly). The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Below are photos of the front, back and sides with and without egg in it. Good old girly crafting fun....

Monthly journal prompt.
My friend Roc sets a journal prompt for us once a month, the last few months were a lot easier, this time round it was quite tricky, this was the prompt:"if you could live anywhere besides the place you currently live, where would it be and send someone a post card from there".
Well, I love living in Scotland and don't want to live anywhere else really, unless of course the going gets very tough...
Once I'm there, I promise I'll send you all a postcard.
Here's my page: Elements used are from Paper whimsey, the Graphics Fairy and Graphics 45 "Once upon a Springtime" papers.
Here you can see the work of other artists who are part of the group flickrgroup

Little portrait sketch
Today I had to attend a whole day workshop. By the afternoon it was getting pretty boring. Thank goodness I had just a few coloured pencils on me so I used the time to do this little sketch. I love children's faces, but usually don't give myself the time to do much sketching, but doing this made the time pass much faster, and hey, I could still listen to the lecture...
