Here is my monthly calendar page for March. The background was created with some spray inks I have had lying around for years. I used Dyan Weaverley's ghosting technique. You can find this technique if you go to the Art from the Heart website. The bird images are from various collage sheets and the fairy images from a set of Hero Art stamps I just purchased. They are stamps made together with Graphics 45 Once upon a Springtime collection.I used some Tim Holtz tissue tape around the edges. Love that stuff!

Handmade mini journal
Last night I found a great tutorial on how you can fold a 6 x 4 minibook or journal out of two pieces of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper. You can see this tutorial on Laura Denison's Follow the Papertrail Youstream channel. I decided to make a mini journal rather than a mini scrapbook, so I covered the pages of the scrapbook paper with gesso and than painted stamped and collaged the first page so far. I am going to use Rian's wonderful collage sheet (see below) for this mini. The great think is that each of the 5double pages has a pocket on the side so any journaling can be hidden inside the pockets if you wish. Here is the cover, (which will get mork work done to it) and the first page using one of Rian's fantastic images.

One World One Heart 2011
The wonderful anual blogging event One World One Heart is with us again, this time for the very last time, sadly. Thanks to the wonderful Lisa from A Whimsical Bohemian.
As many of you know it runs from January 30 through to February 17. This post will stay at the top of my blog til then. For newer posts, see below.
I am a teacher and mixed media artist and am so happy you have come by. I am really looking forward to visiting all participants. This is the third time I am participating in this wonderful event and I can't wait to see the blogs of all who are going to take part this year. I have two prizes to giveaway first of all a little hand painted mixed media 5 x 5 inch block canvas
Here is a more close up view
My other prize is a mini album made with mainly Graphics 45 papers. It can be used to stick in photos etc. There are many pockets and tags also to use for journaling and I plan to include some extra embellishments so the winner can further embelish the album.
Here are just a few of the inside pages, there are 8 pages in all.
Winners will be chosen by random draw on the 17th of February, all you need to do is leave a comment here. I will ship internationally, please make sure you make it possible for me to contact you and thank you so much for dropping by!

Playing with paper
I just love Graphics 45 paper and when I feel like crafting rather than creating art with a capital A, this definitely is the most inspiring paper line around I think.
Today I created a mini book out of empty toilet rolls. The idea came from my friend Roc. You can see her work here. I used 4 rolls for this mini. The paper I used is "Once upon a springtime", probably one of my favourites at the moment, I guess because I can't wait for spring to come.
This is the cover, and here are some of the pages:
