This is a little portrait I did on a 5 x 5 canvas. I have been doing an online portrait painting class with Sharon Tomlinson
hereThis is a first attempt and I am not very happy with it yet.I feel much more confident doing my faces with pencils and maybe a little paint. This is done with folk art acrylic paints mostly. I'll need a lot more practice!
Astrid, I don't know why it took me so long to come take a gander at your blog! I love it! I really like the design on your page and I definately love your style of art!!
ReplyDeleteI think you're picking up on Sharon's style of faces real good! I alreadt like the look on her face and the
background. I think you might want to widen her neck a bit and then all the face needs is a bit more color and highlights. It seems to take me a long time to learn a new way where as some of you sure pick up on things fast!
Glad I found your blog!!
OMG Astrid your painting unbelievable and really facinating. Wonderful work.
ReplyDeleteAstrid, you don`t need more practice! This painting is so beautiful and very artistic as well. I wish I could paint so well.
ReplyDeleteAstrid, I didn't know that you were in Sharon's class--I am too. I love the way this turned out--I love Sharon's faces--an old fashioned look to them--she's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think she's beautiful. I'm in Sharons class too,I only did one little canvas though.
ReplyDeleteI think she's beautiful... I know how it feels to not be happy with my work... but really... this is a lovely painting. I would love to have it hanging on my wall...
