Bookmarks as little gifts

I am on holiday and the weather here is so hopeless(it's actually snowing again!). Anyway, while tidying up in my studio I came upon this packet of blank bookmarks that I probably got well over a year ago.... The perfect excuse to get busy and make some little gifts for arty friends.

Row House Magnets

This little row of houses are meant as fridge magnets for a swap in an art group I belong to. They were great fun to make and so useful in using up little scraps of paper. They are quite small, none are bigger than ATC size.

Crow about week 72

Here is my collage for the flickr group crow about week 72.
The background is one of the papers below.

Fun with paste paper

Yesterday while blog hopping I found out about "Paste Paper". I had never heard of it before but it sounded like so much fun I just had to try it. I made my paste from wall paper paste and coloured it with acrylic paint, I then used stencils and stamps to texturize the papers.
If anyone would like to use these as background papers, please feel free to do so.

Practising Faery Faces

Felt like doing something totally different for a change. For some reason I felt |I wanted to escape into Faery World today and decided to practise drawing fairy faces. Here is one of my attempts. The next big challenge will be to draw the body as well and put the fairy into a fairy landscape...

The Three Muses "Incognito"

Incognito is the theme this week. I love that theme and like most weeks used it as a journal prompt.

Butterfly girl

Today I painted this litle folk art style painting on a wood panel which |I managed to get in the States. I burned the outline of the girl and then used acrylic paints, stamps some masks etc etc to do the rest. The face was done with prisma color pencils. I called her Butterfly Girl.

Thought of Motherhood

On Sunday it is Mothers Day here in the UK. As far as I know other countries celebrate mothers day on a different Sunday. Anyway, this page was inspired by thoughts of Motherhood...

The Three Muses "Newspaper"

This is a little 6 x 8 canvas. I covered it all over with newspaper scraps from this week's Saturday paper. I then collaged and painted over it and added some stamping. The words are random words that called out to me as I leafed through the same Saturday paper.

Little portrait

This is a little portrait I did on a 5 x 5 canvas. I have been doing an online portrait painting class with Sharon Tomlinson here
This is a first attempt and I am not very happy with it yet.I feel much more confident doing my faces with pencils and maybe a little paint. This is done with folk art acrylic paints mostly. I'll need a lot more practice!

Back from the USA

Yesterday morning I got back from my trip to the US and I would like to start by saying thank you to all my blogging friends that wished me a good time. I had a great time even though the weather was unseasonably cold. Maybe that's why my first page is all about blooming and blossoming. I can't wait for spring to start. This is just the background to my page before having done any actual journalling.
