Tag a Day project #3

Welcome everyone and thank you for visiting. Those of you that have been here in the last few days can see that I am still at it, so here is tag 3 of the Tag a Day project. This one is much simpler, mainly just stamps and inks and a few embellishment, but funnily enough, this is actually my favourite so far.
I said I would not write long explanations as to the how to, but this time I will put a few details under some of the photos.

Well, there you have it. Thank you for visiting and sticking with me!

Tag A Day project # 2

Welcome everyone and thank you for visiting. First of all, a special thank you to all of you who gave me such lovely comments yesterday, can't tell you how much I appreciated that!

Well early days yet, but here is tag no. 2. If you want to see what this project is all about, click HERE

So here is Tag no 2:

As this tag projects is going to be like a mini journal, I created a pocket to hold a little tag on which I can do some hidden journaling.

Here you can see the little tag, journaling will be on the back of this tag
And here finally, the complete tag with the little tag sticking out of the pocket. The reason there is no ribbon or anything else at the top of the main tag is because I am going to put all the tags of this project together into a booklet.
Mr Mojo is still not totally back, but at least I am having fun with this project and I guess that's the main thing.

Thank you for dropping by again and have a creative day filled with fun and laughter!

Tag a Day project, or the case of the Missing Mojo....

Welcome everyone and thank you for dropping by.

I am sharing another tag with you today. This tag is part of a larger project, - time for confession:

As some of you know, I have been away from home for a very long time, nearly 6 weeks in all. First in the States for work and then in Australia visiting family. (All of my posts during this time were scheduled). Well, somewhere on my travels I seem to have left behind my mojo, and I have found it really hard to settle back into some creativity......

So after trying out some of the usual remedies for this ailment (that seems to hit quite a few of us from time to time), - tidying up craft space, visiting blogs and Pinterest for inspiration, watching videos etc etc, nothing seemed to help really, so -, what to do next.... Well, just keep making things, yes ok, been there, done that, rather mediocre projects to put it mildly, and to those of you that so kindly have commented, a big thank you. Result: still no mojo. So that's where I am right now. At first I thought, that maybe I should dig out one of my zillion unfinished journals and create some pages just for fun. But then I hit on the idea of working on a smaller scale, and that's where the Tag a Day project was born...
So here's the plan (and sorry for this long waffle), I am going to make one tag a day, just playing around, like a mini journal really. And in the end I'll put them altogether into a little booklet to look back and see where it took me. So, here goes, tag no 1. I'm not going  to give myself any pressure to post them everyday, nor am I going to give you all the details on how I do them, I  am just going to play. But if you are really wanting to know something about it, just email me.

So after this long expose, I'll just leave you with some photos.

One of things I will do with these tags is try out some new techniques and re-visit some old ones, stamping, collage stuff, playing with pretty papers, and well, I'll just have to see where it takes me...
Thank you so much for visiting and hanging in there with me, - it is much appreciated!!

Fashion in a Box

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by!

One of my New Years resolutions was to join in more challenges and so far I have really not been doing very well...... This week however, I managed to produce something that will go with several of the challenges out there right now, so here goes:
This may look like a card, but is actually a little box as you will see in a moment, I decided to alter it to fit in with the  challenge over at the Craft Individuals Blog where the current  theme is "Spring into Fashion". So the outside is all Spring themed, while on the inside I tried to meet the fashion theme.
I started by painting my box with a mixture of Fresco Finish Ice Blue paint and Distress paint in Weathered wood. I then added some Decoart crackle medium to the top, hoping to create some crackle effect, but instead when (being impatient) I dried it with a heat gun, it started to bubble and create texture of a different kind. Ah well, you live and learn. I decided to make the best of it and highlighted this different texture with treasure gold. I darkened the edges with chalk inks and rubbed more treasure gold over the corners. I did some background stamping with an old text stamp.
My vocal images were created with the help of two Crafty Individuals stamps,  CI 302 Floral Postcard, and CI 320 Floral Birdcage. I fussy cut the flowers of the first stamp to create my flower embellishments and the bird cage one was stamped twice, the flowers were fussy cut and layered on top to add some depth.

I also fussy cut some butterflies from another stamp and stamped parts of the Floral postcard one directly onto the sides of the box.

Alright, so far so good, now to the inside: I lined the two compartments with a piece of paper from the G45 French Country collection, mainly because the colours matched the box so well.

The only fashion themed stamp I have is a G45 one from the Ladies Diary collection. I stamped it twice, once in Black Archival and then again in Stormy Sky Distress ink. I cut just the hat from that and glued it on top of the black, so that it would match the background paper. I then coloured her with Distress markers and inks.

On the other side I used a paper element from the same collection.

Well, that's it, hope you like my box and see you next time....
I am putting this in for the Crafty Individuals Challenge, the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge where the theme is Color and the Bloggers Challenge where the theme is "in Bloom"

Rhapsody in Green

Hello everyone and welcome! Thank you so much for joining me today. As some of you know I was invited to join Nicecrane  Design Team a while back and I thought it was high time to share a project using one of their wonderful images. This particular image comes from the Children Paintings 2 collection of gorgeous Vernon paintings.
As you can see I made a tag, it's a Ranger size 10 one. The background was created with some Distress Paints, Weathered Wood, Salty Ocean, and Bundled Sage. I don't have many colours yet, so I played around further with some Distress Stains, - Picket Fence and Vintage Photo and then to match the colours of the image I was going to use, I also added some Distress Inks,  in various green tones. To add some more interest to the background I decoupaged part of a paper serviette (just the very thin top layer) over the background with Ranger Glue and Seal. Here is some detail:
Then I added my image, cut with a Spellbinder die and matted onto some black card.

And finally the whole thing was embellished with some lace, a Dusty Attic chipboard piece (treated with two colours of treasure gold), some flowers and a ribbon etc. I also added some crackle (hard to see from the photos).
Here are a few close ups still:

Hope you like it. But just before I leave you, as some of you know I have just returned from Australia where I met my new grand daughter for the first time, so as some of you asked, - here are a couple of photos

Well, that's it, thank you for visiting and indulging me with some personal picks:o)Finally, here is a thumbnail to the Nicecrane image

French Country Gift Bag

Hello everyone and welcome, lovely to have you visit!

A quick and easy project from me today, using some of the wonderful Graphics 45 "French Country" collection papers. Every time G45 bring out a new collection I think - this is my favourite - and then they bring out another one which I like even better.

Anyway, this started as one of those plain brown paper baggies. I then added some of the papers and elements and some lace. Here is a close up of the front:
The sunflowers were fussy cut from one of the papers.
Here is the other side:
There is very little stamping on this background, other than the tag and the backing to the rooster image.

Both were created with the help of a Memory Box die and matching stamp.

Well, that's it. This is one of these projects that can come in very handy when you need a quick present to take along, maybe with some home made goodies inside. It came together pretty quickly, I'll probably make some more of these soon.
Thank you for visiting and hopefully see you soon again...

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
