From Bits and Pieces on my desk...

Hello everyone and a very warm welcome to my new followers, you are all so very much appreciated!

I don't know about you but I always seem to collect an awful lot of bits and pieces on my work desk. Usually bits left over from other projects or bits I changed my mind about in the last minute. I pop them in a little empty container and promise myself to use them in a next project, and then more often than not, I don't.

Well, this weekend I set myself the challenge to use all the bits and pieces and nothing else to create something. The result is a couple of tags.

This is the first one. After completing it I decided to turn it into a Christmas card. (Yes I know it's two days away from Halloween so what am I doing making Christmas cards....)

Here is the second, after completing it I also turned it into a card.

Not exactly traditional Christmas colours but then hey, these were just bits and pieces on my desk and tell you what, there are still many more left, - I can feel a journal page coming on....
Have a good week everyone!

Astrid, they are so beautiful!! The first tag reminds me of the 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge. Not sure what week.

Your talent is as always awe inspiring.

Oh boy, the bits on your desk are just as beautiful as the bits you put on your 'main' projects!! LOVE the colours on each of these. So vintage Christmas. Hugs, Buttons x

You create amazing art work with your bits and pieces. I doubt if my scraps and bits would make such a beauty!! You seem to have the magic touch.

Dear Astrid, how beautiful they are ,with the distressed dyed ribbons, the lovely flowers, and glitter here and there. I think they are wonderful christmas tags, also if the colours are not traditional.

The result is two absolutely gorgeous tags... amazing use of the leftovers (though the leftovers must have been pretty amazing in themselves!) - gorgeous ribbons and flowers on both - and your usual vintage deliciousness!

Hello Astrid, your blog is beautiful! And your art here is fab as well. I love this challenge, it is one I give myself a lot lately. You have done really well with your two pieces. I love both, but I am really interested in the colors you used in your Christmas card. They are in a really attractive tone, and give a unique feel. Great job!
Hugs,
Terri

Two fab creations there. Just goes to show you don't need to spend a lot to come up with great work. I'm just as guilty at not using my scraps usually. Maddy x

Just got a whole lot of new stamps from a brilliant place called the Stamp Smith. This is the image that I first saw on Docraft and really liked. I asked the friend who has used it in an ATC, where she got it. Well she borrowed it from a friend who got it from ebay as a one off. But.... it had a title. I googled the title, and hey presto found the site. They have great stamps and offer a really friendly fast service. I highly recommend them!
